The Department of CSE had organized a technological convention headed
by Mr. Raj Sundaresan, Senior VP, VISA Inc. USA during his visit to CSE.
Mr. Sundaresan is an Alumnus of the Department. He belonged to the first
batch to have completed their bachelors in computer engineering in 1990 from
DSCE. He has been the VP of esteemed organizations like PayPal Singapore, eBay
and Inovant. Despite being so successful in his life, he has remained humble and
has retained his enthusiasm in all things. An interactive session took place with the
students, faculty, where he stressed upon the latest market trends and technological
advancements in the field of Eletronic Funds Transfer. He informed the students
about the prospective areas of development and how they could hope to meet the
rising industry standards. He was overwhelmed by the hospitality that was show-
ered upon him by the department and marveled at the changes that had taken place
in the college. He has further assured the department regarding placement & in-
ternship opportunities for the CSE students at VISA Inc.
Mr. Raj Sundaresan was felicitated by Professor Bhaskar Rao,
seniormost faculty member of the CSE Department. Mr. Raj was
Honored in a most traditional way with a beautiful golden my-
sore petha, adorned along with a shawl. The department pre-
sented him with Ganesh Idol as a momento with the wishes that
blessings of Lord Ganesh be with him forever, making all his
work free of obstacles and obtain success in his every walk of
life. The department praised and appreciated his efforts & suc-
cess. Mr. Raj was overwhelmed with the love and kindness
shown by the department.

The department of Computer Science & Engineering, DSCE added anoth-
er crowning achievement by collaborating with the Indiana University, Blooming-
ton & Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai for research & development in the field of
Ophthalmic Instrumentation & Imaging. The motive of lab “Center for Ophthal-
mic Imaging and Instrumentation (COII)”, is to capitalize on the new found
collaborations, and employ our own expertise in the field of digital imaging & op-
tometry to create a unique niche for innovative activities of our students and fac-
ulty who have adopted this research field.

2. The Department of Computer Science, DSCE has always been the pioneer of all activities
on college campus. I was privileged to be a part of this department during my BE. course, which has
flourished over the years under the able leadership and guidance of , Dr. Ramesh Babu - HOD of the
department. Top class teaching, best in class infrastructure and varied co-curricular activities all
round the year has helped each one of us to pursue our interests in the technical field. Research and
innovation has been in the blood of this department. Ample opportunities, help and support has al-
ways been provided to interested and dedicated students and staff. I salute the Department of Com-
puter Science for setting higher standards and expectations with each passing year and give my best
wishes for all its future endeavors. I am indeed proud to be a part of the Alumni of this department.
The ideal college experience can be defined as an experience in discovery.This is a time of
new ideas, new ways of thinking, of understanding different perspectives – no longer merely reading
and regurgitating the material, but acquiring the tools necessary to think critically. For me, the comput-
er science department @ DSCE has been the right stepping stone for this. Dr. D R Ramesh Babu and
his team of excellent and highly intellectual professors, are always geared to provide the best to all the
students. The department is always buzzing with academic and extra circular activity. From technical
seminars, paper presentations, training on current industry practices to hackathons, the department is
constantly involved in ensuring they provide an all around and beyond the curriculum exposure to stu-
dents. Four years at DSCE has moulded me towards becoming a competitive individual and has en-
couraged me to strive towards greater heights!
Kunal Kumar Gupta currently in the 5th semester, Computer Science & Engineering,
has been selected as the HackerEarth Student Ambassador for our college, Dayananda Sagar
College of Engineering. HackerEarth is a programmers’ community, which hosts various cod-
ing competitions. The participants are awarded points based on their performances in the
competitions. Top notch IT based companies have hired students from this community. This
will help in inculcating the coding habits among the students. We wish to see this initiative
reach the aim that it is aimed at.

MINI PROJECTS- Ideation to innovation
It is an immense delight to extend our warmest good
wishes to students as well as faculties’ in charge on the successful
completion of their semester’s mini projects. The hard work, en-
thusiasm and zeal of students have empowered them to accom-
plish the short-term milestones in time. To name, few of the pro-
jects turned products are:
Robot- leave 2 lines of space
Library Management Software :
Complete & sophisticated Library management software devel-
oped by the students to keep track & manage all the books of the
department library.
Faculty management Software
This software manages the details of all the faculty members,
their areas of expertise, their current projects & the classes they are
currently teaching.
Scheduling Algorithms Simulation
The operating system (one of the curriculum subjects) schedul-
ing algorithms have been animated to promote self-learning &
make the students to understand the scheduling concepts.
BookMyBook App
An application that will check the availability & reserve a book
in advance from the department library.
MAILBUD
An application for the faculty members by which they can send
a message to a selected group of students. The message will reach
the students simultaneous via Whatsapp, text message & e-mail.
Question paper generator
To steer the department towards automation, a software
product is developed by the students to generate random set of
questions for the internal assessments.
