This paper gives an overview of advancement in communication
system for Underground Mines. The main concept of communication in underground mining to improve
safety of workers and production. In this paper a brief review is given on the advanced communication
systems such as Leaky Feeder-Based System; PED Communication System; Radio Frequency
Identification System (RFID).
