5. King Oscar brand
The King Oscar brand was founded in 1902, when King
Oscar II, ruler of Norway and Sweden, gave the
Chr. Bjelland & Co. special royal permission to use his
name and likeness on a line of sardine products.
King Oscar AS was purchased in 2014 by Thai Union
Group.

Brunost is made by boiling a mixture of milk, cream, and
whey carefully for several hours so that the water evaporates.
The heat turns the milk sugars into caramel, which gives the
cheese its characteristic brown colour and sweetness.
