regulating the workplace among themselves,
rather than the terms being imposed by law.

Agreement
The first basic agreement was signed in 1935
between theWorkers “Confederation ofTrade
Unions” and Norwegian Employers' Association.
This Basic Agreement marks the transition from
turmoil to more peaceful conditions in the labor
market in Norway.

One main objective of the Basic
Agreement, is to create the best possible
basis for partnership between employers
and employees at all levels.
Another objective of the Basic
Agreement is that employers and
employees treat each other as equals.
