2. DC converters are powered off the aircraft avionics buss
during normal (NORM) operations or off the stand-by
avionics battery during emergencies (EMER). (Aircraft
Master or Avionics buss need not be selected on in
emergency mode).
9 Volt DC power for helmet mounted Active Noise Reduction
(ANR) system is also provided through ICAPS Single Plug
Connect™ or standard ANR helmet jack.
ICAPS control head labeling is illuminated by a dimmable
NVIS compatible edge lit panel conforming to
MIL-DTL-7788.
Installation of ICAPS system does not limit the use of standard
helmets or headsets that are not fitted with the Single Plug
Connect™ system.

Self-contained unit mounted via 2.5” section of Dzus rail (4”
depth) or custom mount to suit fixed and rotor-wing aircraft.
Provides microphone, speaker and ANR power input to

Internal impedance adapter incorporated to allow use of
Military low-impedance helmets with U-174/U plug in
aircraft fitted with Civilian, high impedance radios.
ICAPS provides regulated 3.5 Volt DC input for Aviator’s
Night Vision Imaging System (ANVIS-6/9) and NVG lip
light through ICAPS Single Plug Connect™.
ANVIS and lip light power is provided through redundant
wiring by two independent and selectable DC-DC
converters.
THE ICAPS UNIT IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE BOTH DC POWER
AND COMMUNICATIONS INTERFACES TO AIRCREW
HELMETS IN SEARCH AND RESCUE, EMS, AND TACTICAL
FIXEDWING AIRCRAFT. ICAPS ELIMINATES THE NEED FOR
BATTERIES TO POWER ANR, NVG, AND LIP LIGHTS.

ACCESSORIES
Helmet modification kit (HGU-55/P) that includes both the Single Plug Connect™ and standard helmet plug downleads, NVG lip
light, and ANVIS power plug. This kit allows the use of modified helmets in aircraft not equipped with the ICAPS system. (Kits also
available for MSA Gallet and Alpha helmets.) Helmet cord can be installed in the field in less than 30 minutes with slight modification
to the helmet.
Stand-alone aircraft backup battery (24 Volt DC), if aircraft is not equipped with emergency standby battery.
ICAPS compatible O2
mask comm cord to fit MBU-12/P, -20/P, or HA/LP masks. Adapter is available with standard mic jack to
