PERFORMANCE & POWER
HONEYWELL LTS101-850B-2
Honeywell has delivered over 2,100 LTS101 engines
which have accumulated over 10 million flight hours
to date. In 2014 the unscheduled removal rate for the
LTS101 series was 0.18 per 1000 flight hours.
850B-2 engine design improvements have transformed
the LTS101 engine which has already proven to deliver
world class reliability and performance. In 2014 the
unscheduled removal rate for the LTS101-850B-2 was
0.066 per 1000 flight hours.
Twin engine climb rate improved 40% to 10,000 feet.
At typical operating weights, single engine ceiling
increased from 1,500 to greater than 5,000 feet. One-
minute One Engine Inoperative (OEI) power increased
22%, providing greater operational safety. More power
with little to no difference in Specific Fuel Consumption
(SFC).
The 850B-2 engine provides additional power in all
flight regimes which increases helicopter capability,
increases safety and complies with EASA regulations.

ECONOMY AND VALUEECONOMY AND VALUE
All adds up to an economic
light twin engine helicopter
“punching above its weight”
With remarkable performance improvements in hot
and high conditions the BK117-850D2 is flexible and
powerful. The BK117-850D2 allows operators to carry
more payload to more places.
The innovative BK117-850D2 delivers superior safety
and performance at a cost-effective price, adding up
to an economic light twin engine helicopter ‘punching
above its weight’.
Don’t forget it is fast and will get the job done quickly. It
has comparatively low direct operating costs, that will
come down further thanks to the 850 engine that has
longer component life as well as extended hot section
inspections (1800 hours being extended to 2400 hour
trial underway).
