influential musicals of the 20th century, it has left an indelible mark on the genre in
America. The play’s success on Broadway prompted a film version directed by
Howard Hawks and starring Jane Russell and Marilyn Monroe. This highly
acclaimed play, is brought to Cypriot theatre-goers in the context of the KYPRIA
2011 International Festival by the well-known Cypriot Producer, Rea Madella
Ioannidou.

Act Theatre in co-operation with Panos Metaxopoulos presented in Cyprus in a
theatrical performance based on the literary fairy tale written by Hans Christian

has been saluted by the island’s ministry of Education.
