This document summarizes Newport-Mesa's EETT grant for purchasing netbooks, Discovery Science, and My Access software for students in 5th-6th and 7th grade science classes. It outlines plans for professional development for teachers in using this technology and establishing an online learning community. Funding will be provided in installments over two years and performance will be evaluated semi-annually and annually. Sustainability and staffing needs beyond the grant period are also discussed.

- #3 The Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) funding opportunity will enable Newport-Mesa School District (NMUSD) in Orange County, California, to significantly increase the technology resources for at least 300 7th graders attending one of the district’s high schools and at least 450 5th and 6th grade students at four of its district elementary feeder schools through enhanced and expanded student use of Web 2.0 intra-district collaborative tools through the introduction of Discovery Science and MY Access!® on these campuses.
