Dear All,
Welcome to the fifth and final value of the month communication.
Firstly I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the STEER embrace responsibility
competition. We had a great number of nominations and it was difficult for the Executive team
to decide on the winners.
Please join me in congratulating the winners of the “Embrace Responsibility” competition -
Nirav Shah.
Nirav was nominated and won for embracing responsibility with a problem that was occurring
and impacting the client. Although ill-defined, he put "both hands around it" and wrestled it to
the ground by identifying the sources of the problem and driving each one to fruition. Along
the way, he implemented an interim solution with the client in order to minimize business
impact while the actual root causes were identified and eliminated, keeping the client informed
with the latest status along all steps of the way. Without embracing responsibility, this problem
would have continued and grown, causing an increasing amount of business impact with missed
or delayed shipments.
Nirav will soon receive the prize from the STEER leadership team.

I just wanted to provide some feedback on Nirav's performance as it relates to the
projects I'm leading.
On two different occasions, I felt that Nirav's support and efforts were outstanding!
Nirav went above and beyond what was expected in his efforts to resolve the problems
we were having with Dow's PSDT Import functionality. He helped troubleshoot the
problem with the code and then he helped coordinate getting the right people together
to solve the problem.
Nirav also worked long hours over the weekend helping Dev team get Dow's Mexico
eInvoicing solution implemented in COB. This was critical to Dow to have this
implemented this weekend so they can start their Product Testing today.
Without Nirav's help this would never have been possible.

1. "Process Definition and Implementation" - Defining the right process;
communicating with other Elemicans and making them understand it as well as
buying their acceptance on the same and then having them follow the best
practices (processes) on a daily basis.
2. "Process change and implementation at Magic tickets level" - keeping all the
tickets quite clear on where we are at any point of time. (Magic – Incident
Tracker)
3. "Efficiently playing between all different Roles/Responsibilities/Tasks and
heavy workload"

THANK YOU for all the extra hours put in last week to review production
database tables before the Dow PSDT go-live.
A LOT of energy and extra time went into that task at the last minute, and
the individuals above (Specially Nirav) were well deserving of this small
award. I really appreciated their efforts.
