Nikolina Konstantinova Dobreva, known professionally as Nina Dobrev, is a Canadian actress and model. She was born in 1989 in Sofia, Bulgaria but moved to Canada at age two and was raised in Toronto. She is known for her lead role as Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce on the TV series The Vampire Diaries from 2009 to 2015, for which she received several Teen Choice Awards. She has also appeared in several films.
