3. I started as relief milker and after four years and was then promoted to a full time farm
hand. Milking up to 500 head of cattle, with calving twice a year I’ve gained knowledge and
understanding about not only dairy cattle but genetics, pasture, fencing and management.
Anthony’s herd has been a fantastic opportunity to learn more about genetics and how
different bulls can improve or weaken the traits of the next generation.
Some of my duties include:
 Assisting cattle with calving
 Maintenance
 Assisting vet with sick/lame cows

 Getting cattle organised for export/sale
