The Norwegian Institute for Urban and Regional Research (NIBR) is an independent social science research center with a mission to conduct and publish research that benefits public and private decision-makers. NIBR has 80 employees across 4 departments that focus on areas like housing, international development, regional socioeconomics, and welfare/governance. The institute carries out both national and international research with an annual budget of approximately 65 million Norwegian kroner from sources like the Norwegian Research Council and various government ministries.
