This document contains charts summarizing national newspaper readership trends in the UK from January to June 2009. It shows that national newspapers reach 41% of UK adults on a daily basis from Monday to Saturday, and 47% on Sundays. Readership is highest among older age groups and declines with age. National newspapers also have higher readership among higher social classes. Popular newspapers have higher readership than mid-market or quality titles. Total readership of dailies and Sundays has declined in recent years. Reader loyalty varies widely among different newspaper brands.
