One of our own is
headed to D.C.
Mark John began his journey with our
organization in 2001. Mark began his time
here as an intern, and has since grown to be
one of the leaders of the organization. Mark
graduated from Texas Tech University with
a degree in Ag Business and a minor in Ag
Law.
Mark brings future oriented leadership and
guidance to Agriculture Advocacy. His back-
ground of growing up on a small farm in
Missouri and learning the importance of
agriculture in society.
Having come from a rural community, and
moving away to college, Mark knew society
as a whole was being mislead about
agriculture and he set out to bridge that
gap . Our 2018 campaign “Spring into
Fresh” was one of John’s ideas. Being famil-
iar with farmer’s markets, Mark knew by
encouraging people to attend, they would
gain a better understanding of what
farming is really about. People would be
able to talk and learn from local farmers,
and learn why fresh food was superior to
processed. Mark will be awarded the
Distinguished Nonprofit Professional Award
for his successful 2018 campaign in
Washington D.C. on July, 15.

Saturday, May, 5 Farmer’s Markets will
kick off the 2018 campaign “Spring into
Fresh”. Local Farmers will be located
around the markets talking to the pub-
lic about agriculture. We will stress the
importance of fresh eating and how it
compares to processed foods.
Farmers will explain chemicals and
products that they use on their foods,
and how they are different from fresh
farms.
