The Minister of Education confirmed that all primary and secondary schools in Trinidad and Tobago reopened successfully on January 4th, 2016. This included Vistabella Presbyterian Primary School which had 400 of its 475 students return after it closed last term due to electrical issues. Attendance was impacted in 11 schools due to roadblocks, but Santa Rosa Government Primary School classes fully resumed after issues with its water pump and plumbing were resolved last term. The Minister thanked officials for their work to ensure schools opened and called on students to work seriously while acknowledging teachers' dedication in challenging conditions.
