(Note to presenter: depending on the opportunity you may present one or both of these slides that focus on either the campus core to edge network or the data center)Key Points: Internal and external factors on contributing to increased complexity in the network. These challenges are increased by current economic conditions as well as budget and resource limitations. These challenges are creating a number of issues that have the potential to impact your network, the efficiency and productivity of your employees and your overall business And with these challenge come new requirements that must be addressed in order to remain competitive and profitable These are challenges that we are hearing from enterprises like you. Would you agree that these are some of the challenges and issues that you are facing?

Key Points:As we talk about a No Compromise network, there are essentially three key pillars that are the foundation: Lower TCO by Design, Future-Proof Architecture and Defense in Depth. These pillars highlight our capabilities and differentiators vs. our competitors.I think everybody today is looking to get some economic benefits. You’re looking to reduce cost, increase performance, reduce power amongst a whole bunch of other things. When we sat down and started to look at the requirements that customers needed in a network, what we were finding is yes, everybody wants to reduce cost, but nobody wants to compromise on the capabilities of the network. In fact, they actually try to increase the capabilities of the network at the same time. That lines up exactly with what we’re doing. Everything from green IT to open standards, business continuity, operational efficiency and layering more security into the network are all things that we’re very focused on. light our capabilities and differentiators which in turn delivers benefits to you, which we will discuss in this presentation.the product that we’ve built gives us what we call TCO by design because it’s a very young product set built on merchant silicon. We have really designed TCO in from the very beginning, so unlike others who were trying to bolt it onto the side and trying to solve some of their legacy issues––they’ve got ten–year–old chassis designs and old A6 and things where now there is a green initiative within the customer environment. They’re trying to bolt those things on. You can’t do that. You have to design it from the very ground up, and that’s exactly what we’ve done. TCO by design for us is about price performance. It’s about power savings, and we have the most power efficient product portfolio in the industry. We’ve just done some tests with – – that prove that. In fact, one of our switches has just been tested as 39% more power efficient than the competitive average, and – – actually feel that that is the most power efficient switch they have ever tested from any vendor. It’s important to build these things from the ground up, and then the operational efficiency pieces as well. It’s also important to build in future proof. You need future proofed architecture. I’m sure you’re already looking at things like 40 gig, 100 gig, – – channel over Ethernet, all of those things are extremely important, DCE and all those things. All of our products have been built with the future in mind, so as I mentioned earlier, David Lore leads the IEEE efforts for us. He’s one of the guys defining 40 gig and 100 gig. He’s taking the very strong leadership position in these things. The products that we’re building––for instance, our big new data center chassis aggregation chassis that we’re introducing is ready for all of those upcoming technologies. Anything you buy today you can be very confident you’re not going to be scratching your head five years down the line or seven years down the line saying I’ve got to throw away this chassis now. It’s all upgradeable, fabrics are upgradeable, everything. It’s very important to us. Having that complete end-to-end solution is important. The other thing that I would mention is a single connective fabric as well. We’ve spent a lot of time and innovation in looking at how we can help you with a consolidation effort in many different dimensions. Defense in depth––we’re very focused on having fewer instances per dollar spent, both in Cap EX and OPEX. Our goal is for you to have many fewer incidents for the money you’re spending. All our security products are network aware and application aware. We integrate them meaningfully. The management story extends to the security piece as well.
Lets talk about some of our key areas of value and differentiation
