LESSONS LEARNED
1.	 Bigger is not always better
2.	 Residents want services “just in time” not “just in case”
3.	 Libraries are not warehouses
4.	 Natural light is wonderful but precautions are necessary
5.	 Ongoing operating/staffing costs must be considered
6.	 Don’t sacrifice functionality for aesthetics
7.	 100-person meeting rooms don’t fit 100 people
8.	 Once tweens are teens, they are adults
9.	 The key attribute of a great library is its location
10.	 You can’t engage the community enough and lots of library users don’t attend
