2. Hi, I’m Ruby. Me and my owner go on many trips. My owner and I see many interesting sites when we travel. On our last trip we went to San Francisco. I saw many cool sites that I want to share with you.
3. GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge that was built in 1937. The bridge took only 52 months to build; which is 4 years and 4 months. It is a 4,200 foot long suspension bridge and connects San Francisco to the northern part of the city! 100,000 cars cross this bridge each week! Boy, those are a lot of cars.
4. PALACE OF FINE ARTS The Palace of Fine Arts was designed by Bernard Maybeck. The Palace of Fine Arts was built in 1915 when I wasn’t even born. Isn’t it beautiful? In this building they used to display paintings but now it is used as an interactive science museum.
5. WAR MEMORIAL AND PERFORMING ARTS CENTER This building was built in 1932. It one of the largest performing arts centers in the country. You can see opera, dance, and plays here as well as attend meetings. It has 3,146 seats plus 200 people have room to stand. What a beautiful building. Can you spot me? I just wanted to see the view of the city.
6. ALCATRAZ Alcatraz island was first founded by the Spanish in 1772. It’s nickname is “The Rock”. Alcatraz island was first used as a lighthouse for the west coast. Later it was used as a prison. It no longer is used as a jail, but people still visit it to see what a prison looks like. I wouldn’t want to be stuck in here!
7. Did you enjoy your visit to San Francisco? I hope you did? What was your favorite site? My favorite was the Palace of Fine Arts. I hope you visit San Francisco with your pet.
