Many of us expect our friends/contacts to help us for finding new opportunities. What most miss is that they don't know what we are looking for in the new job opportunities and what our background is. This is because many of the contacts may be from different fields than us. So it is our job to help them help us. This is where the Networking Brief comes in handy. Also use the rule of one plus two while giving them this, one email and two hard copies.
