This document defines netizenship and netiquette for online communities. Netizenship refers to being a citizen of the internet, while netiquette outlines polite behaviors for internet use. The document then lists eight guidelines for netiquette, including protecting one's reputation online, respecting others, expressing oneself clearly, respecting intellectual property, proofreading posts, pausing before posting, avoiding sharing personal information, and considering how one represents family, school, or faith online. The objectives are to define key terms, formulate netiquette guidelines, and create a campaign to promote netiquette.

In cyberspace, we state this in an even more basic manner: Remember the human.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

4. What is NETIZENSHIP?
the term of netizen is a portmanteau of
the word of internet and citizens "
citizen of internet" or "net citizen"
5. What is NETIQUETTE?
it is a short term for internet ettiquette. it
is the rules to respect and to use
appropriate communication on the

the internet.
6. EIGHT (8) NETIQUETTE GUIDELEINES
1. Protect your reputation
Whether in real or in virtual
world, you are the same
person. Do only what is
appropriate and share
information that does not
harm you as a person. You
need to think carefully about
what you are going to share
in internet.
7. EIGHT (8) NETIQUETTE GUIDELEINES
2. Respect others
Treat everyone with respect
even if you have not seen
him/her in person.
Be judicious about what you
say on your own and other's
page.
Do not read other's
messages
8. EIGHT (8) NETIQUETTE GUIDELEINES
3. Express yourself clearly and use
emoticons
Communication online is difficult because
emotion are not evident during
communication.
Miscommunication usually takes place
because your facial expression and your
body language cannot be seen and the
tone of you voice cannot be heard.
Use appropriate emoticons in your
message.
9. EIGHT (8) NETIQUETTE GUIDELEINES
4. Remember the intellectual
property
Ideas online are products of
intelligence of others.
If you need to cite them,
acknowledge the author.

properties of others.

punctuation
Since your face cannot be seen
online, you will be judge according to
your post.
Good writing means good manners.
We do not want to waste other's
people’s time reading out post which
is incomprehensible.
Always check the grammar before
you post it.
Always use proper punctuation to
avoid misinterpretation.
11. EIGHT (8) NETIQUETTE GUIDELEINES
6. Pause before you post.
Take note that whatever you
post becomes permanent
therefore think twice or thrice
before you click send.
12. EIGHT (8) NETIQUETTE GUIDELEINES
7. Do not share your personal
information
Sharing your personal information online is
like going around the streets wearing a
shirt printed with your name, address, etc.
You definitely do not want to reveal all
these to all of people.
This publicity will make you prone to
identity theft.
Do not post about what are you doing or
when you are going to somewhere.
Keep it for yourself.
13. EIGHT (8) NETIQUETTE GUIDELEINES
8. Think about who or what you are
Representing
As a son/daughter, you represent your
family.
As a students, you represent your school.
As a individual, you represent your God.
Of course you do not want your family or
your God to be put shame by what you do.
Always consider your love one by what
you are going to
do, if they are be proud or disappointed by
what you did.
