We have failed to understand that sex education is not about having sex but more about creating awareness among our society that which is safe, and which is unsafe sex and so many other things. Being a parent have you taught your child what is good touch and what is bad touch and what are the biological changes that will occur to the child when they will grow up?

Health promotion using educational game program to preventing pedophilia issue
Sexual violence case on children in Indonesia is increasing significantly. There are some factors that is causing it, such as the nurture pattern deviation in family. Various kinds of strategies have been applied by government, but the result is still not as it is supposed to be. One of the applied strategy is by promoting health. Promotion strategy is performed by advocacy, society empowerment and building environment. Promotion strategy in conventional way, like preaching and counseling, does not attract nice attention from toddler’s parents, in fact it is weary. Promotion is performed periodically from trained health workers, training staff for Integrated Service Post (Posyandu) and the other staff, after that it is shared to the toddler’s mother by educational programs. Toddler is the main target of the educational program. Material about sex education, that is adapted by the age of the toddler, begins from the third year or when phallic phase begins.
Sexeducation revision
Sex education is important for several reasons. Many countries struggle with issues like high teen pregnancy rates and STI epidemics due to lack of comprehensive sex education and access to sexual health resources. While some countries teach abstinence-only, countries like Switzerland that provide factual information about sex and relationships from a young age tend to have lower rates of teen pregnancy and abortion. Starting conversations with children from a young age and making them feel comfortable asking questions can help promote healthy attitudes about sexuality.

It is not a bad thing.In fact, we all are dependeduponsex.Nosex meansnochildrenandnochildrenmeansnohuman.So,if this topicis thisimportantthenwhydidnot we studythis as a child?Today rape can be discussedopenly but can our mediadiscusssex asopenlyasrape?The answerisNObecause we are TOO conservative to discuss these things in front of our parents and children. First of all, let us understand what sex education is?? It includes the study of emotional relations, human sexuality, reproductive rights, safe sex, human sexual anatomy, birth control, the age of consent, sexual temperance and social hygiene. These concepts are important to teach our children, but it feels bad when even our parents and teachers consider these as adult topics and thinkthat it should be swept under the carpet. We all know that India’s mostly population is conservative and according to them sex educationis not necessary.But its shame for us that even after watching dailyrape reports and child abuse news we do nothing to prevent it. Don’t you think that sex education could have taught to that 11 years old girl who was touched at inappropriate body places by his uncle? Don’t you think she could have protested if she knewthatitisnot rightto letheruncle touchherthere?Buthow couldshe have learnedthese things if nobody had taught her? Researchers prove that India is among those countries where child abuse is rate is highest. Its high time and we need to understand this that every single girl is molested physically or mentallyeven before theirteenage.Teenage problemisanotherproblemthatisfaced by India.Again,our country israted highestinteenage pregnancy.Isn’tthisourfault?Whatif we couldhave taught ourboys and girls sex education? Would not it be different? We have failed to understand that sex education is not about having sex but more about creating awareness among our society that which is safe, and which is unsafe sex and so many other things. Beinga parenthave youtaughtyourchildwhatisgoodtouch andwhat isbadtouch andwhat are the biological changes that will occur to the child when they will grow up? Sex educationisimportanttounderstandthe resultsof unprotectedsex like unwantedpregnancyand STDs. It will also help our children the importance of contraceptive pills and condoms. It will make themunderstandthatwhichistherightage tohave sex.Familyplanningisalsoapartof sex education as it preparesthemfora healthypregnancy.Soletus askthose parents,teachers,andleadersthatis it really bad to teach all these things to our innocent kids? So, isn’t this time to ask our education systems to provide sex education in institutions? If the institutionis not providing them sex education, then why can’t the parentsstart this at home? They can open-upwiththeirchildlikeishe/shelikesomeone intheirschool andhasanyone touchedthem at badly?Askthemwhat theythinkaboutitemnumbersthattheysee inmoviesandwhatemotional difficultiestheyare facing.You will be shockedwhentheywill startspeakingandtell youeverything. So think it as your fundamental duty and teach your child and others also.
