This document discusses values in research during challenging times. It presents an appreciative inquiry approach using a 5D cycle of definition, discovery, dream, design, and delivery. The research focuses on TeachMeet, a professional learning event, using mixed methods including qualitative and quantitative approaches. It examines the characteristics and evolution of TeachMeet, what motivates participants, and how TeachMeet fits into professional learning landscapes. Data analysis uses interpretive phenomenological analysis to examine personal lived experiences. The document raises questions about pivoting research focus due to unexpected global challenges and surfacing valued elements of face-to-face events in online spaces.
