The Project : Laser products are designed for electronic trading for customers involving
delivery of Products and services in Logistics through a range of products
called PRO (network), Premium (Desktop) and Web based applications.
Clients would transmit Connote files at the end of day via ftp, which in
turn would be processed at the server end for tracking and billing details.
Other functionality included Logistics bookings, Rate Enquiry and Track-
Trace from the Oracle 8i database where all the connote information is
scanned at the point of collection and delivery.
Web related tasks involved development and support using ASP, HTML,
and SQL Server 7.0, UNIX scripts for tasks related to Customer Login,
Online Consignment Booking, and Rate Queries for trading across

The registration data from the database was analysed

Problematic registration allotment was monitored on

Successfully delivered 3 versions of the Laser despatch
system on time and to budget.
Recently upgraded all despatch systems to use XML as
their primary transmission protocol, alleviating the
inherent firewall problems of using FTP.
Support calls for Laser have dramatically decreased
since the new version has been implemented.
Oracle databases backed up on a daily basis and
importance of continuous availability of database was
ensured. Vastly improved Oracle DBA skills.
