Structures
Tree
A tree is a tall plant
with a trunk and
branches made of
wood. Trees can live
for many years.
MECHANICAL PROPERTY OF
PARTS OF A TREE:
 ROOTS: Work as foundation
of trees.
 BRANCH: Typically bear
leaves.
 LEAVES: Deals with
environmental pressure.
Honey Comb
A honeycomb is a
mass of hexagonal
prismatic wax cells
built by honey bees
in their nests to
contain their larvae
and stores of honey
and pollen.
DNA Structure
DNA is made up of
molecules called
nucleotides. Each
nucleotide contains a
phosphate group, a sugar
group and a nitrogen
base.
The four types of nitrogen
bases are:
 Adenine (A),
 Thymine (T),
 Guanine (G) &
 Cytosine (C).
Butterfly
Like all insects, they have
 six jointed legs,3 body
parts, a pair of
antennae, compound
eyes, and an
exoskeleton.
The three body parts are
the head, thorax (the
chest), and abdomen (the
tail end). The butterfly's
body is covered by tiny
sensory hairs.
Bird’s Nest
TYPES OF MATERIALS: Grass,
Straw
FORMATION TYPE: Cup-shape
DIAMETER: 1.15 inches by 1.6
inches in avg.
WEIGHT: Near about 17.0 g
MECHANICAL PROPERTY:
 Bird nest is light-so that it
doesn’t fall from height.
 The straw & grassy
materials are welded nicely
to avoid windy condition &
any other forces

MAN MADE
STRUCTURES
Clay House
 An earth structure
is a building
structure made
largely from soil.
 It is combined with
other materials,
compressed to add
strength.
 Material:
mud,straw,sod,turf
Bridge
Bangabandhu Bridge, commonly
called the Jamuna Multi-purpose
Bridge is a bridge opened in
Bangladesh in June 1998.
It connects Bhuapur on the

Construction started: July 3, 1985
Width: 18 m
Location: Sirajganj
Flyover
 refers to
overpass ,
a high level
road bridge
that crosses
over a
highway
intersection.
PARLIAMENTORY
HOUSE
 Largest legislative
compexesin the
world
 comprising 200
acres area
STRUCTURAL SYSTEM:
 Reinforced Concrete
 Brickwork
Tunnel
 A TUNNEL is an
underground
passageway.
 Dug through the
surrounding
Soil/earth/rock
 USED BY: Vehicle ,
Railway, canal ,
transmission of
water.
