Editor's Notes
And I want to thank you for allowing me to be here and share what we are trying to establish.
To give some background, we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was established back in 2016. We are located in Jacksonville, Florida at former Naval Air Station Cecil Field on 26-acres of property.
Back in 1973 the families of pilots, who’s where-a-bouts were uncertain established a POW/MIA Memorial alongside the base chapel. This Memorial currently consist of (16) pilots who are enter POW or MIA. We took necessary action because this property was up for possible development.
Through this process, we learned there is no National POW/MIA Memorial in our country. There is NOT such a place that includes all MIA service members in one location. I can say to you, we have a plan and a vision.
Not aware of any other Missing Man Pew, custom made
It’s both an empty seat and the most crowded seat
We are able to accept donations or loans of artifacts, memorabilia, or anything to help share the story of your loved one
We will shortly be able to begin work on a digital library – archive news, videos of family members or friends sharing about their loved one - as a person, as a father, a son, a brother, a sister, a friend…
The frontage road has now been officially renamed to “POW-MIA Memorial Parkway”
3D rendering of master plan – giving a birds’ eye view
90 ft Spire – it will cast a full shadow on the 3rd Friday of September for National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
