A graduate of the Seattle University School of Law, Jon Schorsch has completed legal internships with the King County Department of Public Defense and Teamsters Local 117. In addition to his legal career, Jon Schorsch gives back to the community through his work with nonprofit groups and organizations, such as the National Federation of the Blind (NFB).

2. Introduction
A graduate of the Seattle University School of Law, Jon Schorsch has
completed legal internships with the King County Department of
Public Defense and Teamsters Local 117. In addition to his legal
career, Jon Schorsch gives back to the community through his work
with nonprofit groups and organizations, such as the National
Federation of the Blind (NFB).
One of the preeminent nationwide organizations devoted to the
blind, NFB maintains a series of programs through its Jernigan
Institute, a research center focusing on education, technology, and
products that benefit blind individuals. Among other programs, the
Institute hosts the International Braille and Technology Center for the
Blind and the Jacobus tenBroek Library, a premier research center
with numerous resources about blindness.

3. National Federation for the Blind
Extending the organization’s commitment to the education of
its members, NFB supports blind students in the United States
and Puerto Rico with 30 merit-based scholarships ranging in
value from $3,000 to $12,000. To be eligible for the
scholarships, applicants must be legally blind; a resident of the
United States or Puerto Rico; and planning to attend or
currently enrolled in a degree-granting program in the United
States.
Additionally, recipients must participate in both the annual NFP
convention and other scholarship-related activities. However,
recipients will receive assistance to attend the convention,
which will take place in July of 2018 in Orlando, Florida.
