has a background in labor, employment, and education law spanning over
a decade. A member of the New York County Lawyer’s Association
(NYCLA), Michael Borrelli remains active in the organization’s efforts to
further equitable and high-quality legal education. Since establishing the
Committee on Law-Related Education (LRE) in the mid-1980s, NYCLA has

Headed by its Chair, Hon. Richard Lee Price, the LRE sponsors a number of
ongoing educational initiatives, such as the Lawyer in the Classroom
Program. Through a series of classroom visits, courtroom tours, and student
internships, professionals in the legal community interact directly with
students to explore the intricacies of criminal and constitutional law as well
as real-world professional challenges. In addition, the committee publishes
and updates the LRE Youth Manual, a reference guide covering major
areas of constitutional rights and legal responsibilities. Through the Justice
Resource Center, a subcommittee of the LRE, the bar association also
sponsors an annual, statewide mock trial competition for all students of
public, private, and parochial schools.
