3 Ways to Automate App Deployments with NGINXNGINX, Inc.
Watch on demand: www.nginx.com/resources/webinars/three-ways-to-automate-with-nginx-and-nginx-plus
The process of deploying applications in many organizations today is slowed down by manual processes. These manual processes create extra work for developers and operations teams, cause unnecessary delays, and increase the time it takes to get new features and critical bug and security fixes into the hands of customers. Automating common tasks – using tools, scripts, and other techniques – is a great way to improve operational efficiency and accelerate the rollout of new features and apps.
The potential improvements of automation are impressive. With the proper components in place, some companies have been able to deploy new code to production more than 50 times per day, creating a more stable application and increasing customer satisfaction.
High-performing DevOps teams turn to open source NGINX and NGINX Plus to build fully automated, self-service pipelines that developers use to effortlessly push out new features, security patches, bug fixes, and whole new applications to production with no manual intervention.
* Best practices for continuous delivery and automated deployments
* How to quickly and easily deploy new features or bug fixes into production with the push of a button
* Techniques to orchestrate and manage your NGINX-powered infrastructure using tools like Ansible, Chef, and Puppet

Lukáš Malý - Log management ELISA controlled by Zabbix | ZabConf2016Zabbix
Datasys ELISA log management is robust, powerful, yet inexpensive solution for collection, correlation and analysis of logs. Core system consists of the Elasticsearch “noSQL“ database and the web user interface Kibana, which provides high comfort for analysis of detected security incidents and relevant logs. It is common that the database ElasticSearch is distributed to multiple servers to achieve load balancing and high availability of indexed data. ELISA heavily utilizes ZABBIX for user authentication and role based access control, notifications and self-monitoring. Elasticsearch Indices can be managed right in ZABBIX Frontend. ZABBIX "trapper" items and monitoring templates are used to centrally manage configuration of distributed environment of NXlog agents. Agents are capable to securely auto-register as ZABBIX "hosts".

Zabbix API offers us a lot of power and possibilities. We will talk about automation and integrations at scale, at Globo.com. Automating gives us power to clone instances of Zabbix, perform batch operations, manage MANY networks for discovery and more. We will present our layer of abstraction to API, democratizing API access, offering a nice UI and standards for every new service monitored and few cached responses. Also, we will show how we have integrated with CloudStack, to deliver automated private cloud monitoring into Zabbix.
Wolfgang Alper - Zabbix Meets OPS Control / Rundeck | ZabConf2016Zabbix
Zabbix is an excellent tool to do network monitoring and to alert if something bad happens. But Zabbix can do more. An underestimated feature of Zabbix is its ability to perform actions in addition to simple notifications. However, this requires to precisly setup those actions within zabbix, which is not always an easy task and might duplicate existing work. So what if Zabbix actually worked in concert with an external taskrunner / jobscheduler that is build to do exactly this: run a task or action against a host and report its outcome? Zabbix would perform the same well defined steps that an ops member would perform in case of certain failures using this kind of tool. A well know example of this kind of software is "Rundeck" which is licensed under the Apache License Version 2.0.
Nagios Log Server greatly simplifies the process of searching your log data. Set up alerts to notify you when potential threats arise, or simply filter your data to quickly audit your system. With Log Server, you get all of your data in one location, with high availability and fail-over built right in. Quickly monitor your servers with configuration wizards and start monitoring your logs in minutes.

The Lojas Renner has always had a close proximity to the Open Source movement in Brazil. Still in the 90s, all the company's POS solutions have been migrated to Linux and in early 2000, migration started in all the company's systems, including the main components of critical infrastructure. Since then, much has changed. The world scene Open Source has become a worldwide standard for all products and companies, making its adoption not only an innovation but a necessity. Understand how since 2008 Zabbix helps us in monitoring the entire IT infrastructure, remote units and our business processes.

Join our Meetup: www.meetup.com/cloud-native-muc
Abstract: Until today existing enterprise applications are integrated, tested, and deployed as monoliths. This is very time-consuming and hinders agile business models. Cloud technology promises unlimited scalability, short release cycles, quick deployments and antifragility. But can we evolve these systems into the cloud with reasonable effort? What do we have to change and what are the risks involved? This talk will share the experiences from a real world customer project and present an industrialized approach for the Cloud-native evolution of existing IT landscapes.
It about the technical session. I have given a talk so that local people know about the cloud and they feel motivated to work with the cloud. It was basically for newbies who are planning to start their career. I tried to show them who they would be a cloud engineer what's will be their future responsibility and more.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

What Is Nagios?
- Nagios is a suite of IT management tools that allows you to operate more efficiently by reducing downtime, minimizing security risks, and increasing effectiveness of your IT staff. So what does that mean?
When problems occur on your network it can be difficult to track down. A server goes down, and you immediately have to spend time trying to find the problem. Now, IT staff are spending man-hours looking for the problem. Nagios solutions aim to minimize and even eliminate these man-hours spent finding problems. With Nagios solutions, IT staff can immediately begin fixing problems before they become large outages. IT managers, can rest easy knowing that their network is being monitored, and business owners can be assured that costly network outages can be resolved before they become catastrophes.
-Is our flagship commercial network infrastructure monitoring solution.
-Think about your network, or your business. By a show of hands, how many people have experienced a network outage, website crash, or other IT problem? Think about all the processes that take place on the network, or the business processes that are critical to have up and running all the time. Has anyone had everything work perfectly all the time? (laugh) We all know that's not the case. But what might be a bigger problem is having your customers, clients, and resellers tell you that something down on your site, or that they cannot access something hosted on your server, etc. That’s just embarrassing. That’s why you monitor your infrastructure and that’s why we created Nagios XI, so that the problems that do occur on your network, don’t cause embarrassing outages.
In your network, or office, you have routers, switches, computers, printers, phones, the list goes on. All of these things are connected to each other. There are connections, bandwidth traffic, and information transactions that take place constantly, every day. So do you know which devices are talking the most? What is your regular bandwidth usage? Is your ISP meeting your contract and Service-Level agreements? How much data is being sent from your network each day? Is there a security threat leaking confidential information?
You might not know the answers to these questions, but Nagios Network Analyzer can provide you with the answers. Network Analyzer can tell you exactly which devices are "talking", how much data, the number of packets. By monitoring your traffic sources, you can answer those questions and ultimately get to know your network, keep it secure, and ensure SLAs are being met.
When problems occur in your infrastructure, someone needs to know about it. What if the people who are notified of the problem are responsible for telling other staff to fix the problem? Can you really rely on humans to physically tell another human? No. The fact of the matter is that it’s easy for incidents to get lost, and problems to be overlooked. That’s why integrating Nagios Incident Manager with Nagios XI is so important to your infrastructure. Incident manager can automatically generate tickets and tasks for helpdesk and other IT staff when problems are detected in Nagios XI
- A log management and monitoring solution that provides centralized organization, archiving, policy compliance, and security log auditing in order to see exactly what actions are taking place on the network. Nagios Log Server provides users with an easy way to view and visualize log data while remaining organized and “in-the-know”.
