1) In late December 2019, a cluster of pneumonia cases of unknown cause was reported in Wuhan, China and was later identified as a new coronavirus (nCovid-19). 2) The virus spread rapidly from person to person and caused a pandemic. Common symptoms included fever, cough, and shortness of breath. 3) By January 2020, the WHO had set up an incident management team and was providing regular updates on the outbreak and risk assessment as cases spread beyond China.
