4. WAY FROM AND THROUGH
Mysore is connected by National Highway
NH-212 to the state border town of
Gundlupet, where the road forks into the
states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Within the
city, buses are cheap and popular means
of transport, auto-rickshaws are available,
and tongas (horse-drawn carriages) are
popular.
Mysore railway station has three lines,
connecting it to Bangalore, Hassan and
Chamarajanagar. All trains that connect to
Mysore are operated by South Western
Railway Zone, Hubli of Indian Railways.
The fastest train to serve the city is the
Shatabdi Express.
Kingfisher Airlines operated daily flights,
connecting Mysore with Chennai, Delhi,
Mumbai via Bangalore. Spice Jet now flies
alternative day flights from Bangalore to
Mysore.
