2. OBJECTIVES
To provide practical exposure to us.
To gain experience on travelling in various modes of transport; like
train,bus,tempo-traveller, horse-riding,palki,helicopter,shikara,cable-car etc.
Explore the destinations like Jammu,Srinagar,Gulmarg,Sonmarg,Pahalgam,Katra.
Getting acquainted with facilities and amenities of the destination; Kashmir.
Interacting with vendors of service providers and local community members.
4. We are glad to inform all of you that we have successfully completed our Field Study Tour-
2023 under the guidance of our respected Head of The Department; Dr.Mir Abdul Sofique Sir.
Our Destinations were Jammu & Kashmir and Katra. Our journey’s timeline was 12th
December-24th December,2023.
We want to give special thanks to Tulip Tours & Travels and also Mr.Saswata Roy
Chowdhury,Mr.Prasanta Majhi,Promir Pandey,Abhijeet Da,Amar Da who made this tour
memorable and comfortable for us.

The Jammu City abounds in a large number of shrines which testifyto the deep devotional spiritof the
people. An increasingstream of pilgrimsfrom allover the country and even abroad visittheseshrines
every year. While Jammu isfamous as the City of Templeson account of numerous temples – old and
new – whichdot the landscape,the City however also has a fair number of shrinesof other faiths.The
shrinesof Jammu City make it a glowing example of secularismand inter-religiousharmony.

10. (Sri Shankaracharya Temple & Dal Lake)
• The Shankaracharya Temple or Jyeshteshwara Temple is a Hindu temple situated on top of the Shankaracharya Hill
on the Zabarwan Range in Srinagar in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is dedicated to the Hindu
god, Shiva. The temple is at a height of 1,000 feet (300 m) above the valley floor and overlooks the city of Srinagar.
• Dal is a lake in Srinagar (Dal Lake is a misnomer as Dal in Kashmiri means lake), the summer capital of Jammu and
Kashmir. The urban lake, is integral to tourism and recreation in Kashmir and is named the “Jewel in the crown of
Kashmir” or “Srinagar’s Jewel". The lake is also an important source for commercial operations in fishing and water
plant harvesting.
11. (Dargah Hazratbal Shrine & Nishat Garden)
• The Hazratbal Shrine, popularly called Dargah Sharif, is a Muslim shrine located in Hazratbal
locality of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, India. It contains a relic, Moi-e-Muqqadas, which
is widely believed to be the hair of the Islamic prophet Muhammad.
•The Nishat Bagh is a 12 terraced garden located near Srinagar's famous Dal Lake. It is the
second-largest Mughal garden in Kashmir after Shalimar Bagh.
12. (GULMARG)
• Gulmarg is the crowning glory of Jammu & Kashmir and is located 2,650 meters
above sea level. Known as the “Meadow of Flowers”, it boasts of the world’s highest
golf-course.
13. (SONAMARG)
• Located at an altitude of 2,740 m, Sonmarg is an ideal stopover for nature lovers who
want to enjoy camping in a hill station. Known as the Meadow of Gold.

15. (Pahalgam)
• Chandanwari:- Chandanwari is famous for being the base, or starting point, to the famous
Hindu pilgrimage site, Shri Amarnath Yatra, which starts in June and ends in August. It is
situated at an elevation of 2,895 meters, and located about 16 kilometers from Pahalgam.
•Aru Valley:- Aru Valley is a famous tourist place in Jammu & Kashmir located in the Anantnag
district around 12 kilometers from Pahalgam.
•Betaab Valley:- Betaab valley is a gorgeous expanse by the Lidder river, offering panoramic
views of the Himalayas.

Vaishnodevi(Katra)
• The second-most visited Hindu pilgrimage destination in India, Mata Vaishno
Devi Cave Temple is situated in the Trikuta Hills in Katra, Jammu & Kashmir. Hindu
devotees from all over the world visit this famed religious site where the Mother
Goddess or Mata Vaishno Devi is said to fulfill their wishes. This religious place is
considered the most important Shaktipeeth as it is believed, here the skull of the
Goddess Sati fell.
