Myself on Street and Hip-hop Dances
• This module introduces you to the importance of active recreation in
your daily lives. Health is everybody’s concern. That’s the reason why
we need to engage in active recreation to help us achieve a healthy
body.
There are some statements below that will measure your knowledge to
your lesson. Read each statement and write YES if it is correct and NO if it is
wrong.
1. An RPE ( Rate of Perceived Exertion) of 10 means that the activity is
very light.
2. Swimming and playing basketball are vigorous activities.
3. Street and hip-hop dances are passive recreational activities.
4. Doing passive recreational activities is best rather than the active one.
5. A normal nutritional status means that weight is proportional to the
height.
6. Being physically inactive and unhealthy diet cannot affect your total
health.
7. Walking and dancing are activities which are of moderate intensities.
8. We can help our community in this pandemic time by sharing our
knowledge and skills on dancing through media.
9. A physically fit person can do his/her daily chores without getting
easily tired.
10. Playing computer games, watching vlogs and K dramas, are already
enough for us to achieve healthy body on this pandemic crisis.
This is the beginning of your lesson in Street and Hip-Hop dances. In this part, you will encounter different activities and
challenges which enables you to review and reveal your knowledge in the previous and upcoming lessons.
Activity 1: Yes It’s True
In this activity you will identify some physical activities that can help
you sustain fitness.
Objective: To asses physical activities, exercises, and eating habits that can help in sustaining physical fitness.
Materials:
Pen and paper
Procedure:
1. Look at the various physical activities below. Reflect yourselves on the
activities you’re practicing in order to sustain a healthy body.
2. Write YES on your paper if the activity can sustain fitness and NO if not.

________ 4. Eating fruits and vegetables

Reflective questions:
1. What is the importance of participating active recreational activities?
2. Do these physical activities can help us boost our immune system specially
in this pandemic time? How?
3. Do engaging yourself to physical activities a guarantee that you already
achieved fitness and can escape on different illnesses? Why?
Activity 2:Hey Guys, Share Ko Na ‘To!
Read the story below and answer the questions that follows.
This is a short story of the place where my best friend was born. Her name is Cassandra, born
from Barangay Pwedengmagbago, a place where people are observed by others and known for
being passive and ravenous. The people in that community are contented of what they are.
They thought that being overweight is a blessing. After eating, they just sit or lie down and
watch Korean dramas, surfing on the internet, updating their facebook and doing video calls.
They do passive recreational activities. They do not perform active recreational activities
because they don’t want to get tired and sweaty. Male and female got into vices like playing
cards, smoking and drinking alcohol with chichiria as their pulutan. On the other side, their
children like my friend Cassandra are very diligent in their studies. They read, answer, and
perform the activities in their modules and very participative on their online classes that’s why
they still maintain high grades. Since it’s pandemic, and the people in their community are
afraid to go to church, they still watch mass on television and do bible sharing on Sundays. They
maintain a close family ties as well.
