Editor's Notes
The technical core of MyMANET has already been completed by Prof. Santosh and Ashwin. We have to now take it closer towards deployment. Essentially we have to realize the clear path for its deployment and have to develop as many relevant applications as we can, that exploit its utility. We started our analysis by visualizing the probable deployment scenarios of MyMANET. We came up with two. One scenario can be to provide wireless connectivity say in a village of any developing country. MyMANET is cheap because it is just software plus it is extremely easy to deploy and scale. Hence, it is ideal for developing regions. It can be used for both intra as well as internet connectivity. Secondly, it can also be used for connectivity and communication in disaster-affected areas where there is an urgent need of connectivity which does not require much infrastructure.
