Simulation of Combustion Process with Delayed Entry Technique Using Discrete ...AM Publications
The rapidly increasing worldwide demand for energy and the progressive depletion of fossil fuels has led to an
intensive research for alternative fuels which can be produced on a renewable basis. Hydrogen in the form of energy will
almost certainly be one of the most important energy components of the early next century. Hydrogen is a clean burning and
easily transportable fuel. Most of the pollution problems posed by fossil fuels at present would practically disappear with
Hydrogen since steam is the main product of its combustion. This Paper deals with the modeling of Suction and Compression
Processes for Hydrogen Fuelled S.I.Engine and also describes the safe and backfire free Delayed entry Technique. A four
stroke, Multicylinder, Naturally aspirated, Spark ignition engine, water cooled engine has been used to carrying out of
investigations of Suction Process. The Hydrogen is entered in the cylinder with the help of Delayed Entry Valve. This work
discusses the insight of suction process because during this process only air and Hydrogen enters in to cylinder, which after
combustion provides power. Simulation is the process of designing a model of a real system and conduction experiment with it,
for the purpose of understanding the behavior of the design. The advent of computers and the possibilities of performing
numerical experiments may provide new way of designing S.I.Engine. In fact stronger interaction between Engine Modelers,
Designers and Experimenters may results in improved engine design in the not-to-distant future. A computer Programme is
developed for analysis of suction and Compression processes. The parameter considered in computation includes engine speed,
compression ratio, ignition timing, fuel-air ratio and heat transfer. The results of computational exercise are discussed in the
paper.

EXPERIMENTAL and ANALYTICAL ANALYSIS of FLOW PAST D-SHAPED CYLINDERAM Publications
The study of flow past the bluff body is very important in aerodynamics. The D-Shaped cylinder is one of the
bluff bodies which serve some vital operational function in aerodynamic. So it is necessary to study the flow past the DShaped
cylinder. In this paper the flow past D-Shaped cylinder of dimensions B=90mm, H=80mm, and L=200mm is
studied experimentally and analytically. The analytical results are validated with experimental results. The flow
parameter drag co-efficient is calculated for different Reynolds number using Drag co-efficient relation and results of
drag co-efficient are validated with experimental results. Based on the experimental and analytical results, the drag coefficient
of circular cylinder and D-Shaped cylinder are compared. The Strouhal number is calculated using Strouhal
number co-relation for different Reynolds number and results of Strouhal number are validated with previous results
from literature. The experimentation is carried in small open type wind tunnel. The Reynolds number regime currently
studied corresponds to low Reynolds number. The present research involves the calculation of drag co-efficient for DShaped
cylinder. This experiment is based on existing wind tunnel that is already developed. The focus of the present
research is on finding the drag co-efficient both by experimentally and analytically.
SEISMIC ISOLATION OF RC FRAMED STRUCTURE WITH AND WITHOUT INFILLSIAEME Publication
Earthquakes are the nature’s greatest hazard which cannot be exactly predicted by human
beings. Earthquake is a sudden movement of earth’s surface with the release of massive energy
in the form of seismic waves. There are so many methods to control the vibration of the
buildings like passive, active and hybrid control systems.[1] Base isolation is a passive control
system. In the present work, a (G+3) structure considering with and without infill’s subjected
to seismic force along with static gravity loads are analyzed using Response Spectrum Method
in ETABS-2015 package. From the study, the response of the structure obtained is time period,
base shear, story displacement and inter-story drifts and also the comparison is drawn for the
same parameters considering structure as bare and infill frames. The variation in percentage
of steel is also presented. It is found that the time period and story displacement increases
while base shear and story drifts gets reduces with the provision of effective base isolators.
