The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.

My advice to the women by the shaykhah umm abdillaah al-waadi'iyah 01

My Advice to the Women, Part 1
By Umm Abdillaah al-Waadi’eeyah
Introduction by the Shaykh, the ‘Allaamah, Scholar of Hadeeth, Muqbil Ibn Haadee Al-
Waadi’ee followed by an introduction by the Author: Umm Abdillaah al-Waadi’eeyah
אאא
Shaykh’s Introduction
All praise is due to Allaah, Lord of all creation and may the peace and blessings of
Allaah be upon our trustworthy Prophet Muhammad, his family and his
companions. I testify that none has the right to be worshipped in truth except
Allaah and I testify that Muhammad is His Slave and Messenger.
To proceed:
This is a piece of advice (directed) to the women. It is followed by a set of
questions and answers that were presented to the women, and they undertook the
task of answering them. I chose, from that, one of their responses so that it could
be added to (the book) ‘My advice to the women’.
As for the book ‘My advice to the women’, then it is relevant and it is especially
applicable to the women of our land, for verily their level of understanding and
knowledge is extremely low.
The people are to be divided into three categories when it comes to (dealing)
with the women:
1) Those who give them free reign and allow them to do as they please. They allow
them to travel without a mahram, free mix in the schools, universities and their
places of work, whether it is in the hospitals, offices or other places of worldly
work; where the affairs of the Muslims have turned into a state of chaos and
(blatant) imitation of the Europeans. And to Allaah we belong and to Him we will
return.
2) They are those who neglect the women and leave them without any Islamic
education. So he leaves these women like cattle, not knowing anything that Allaah
made obligatory upon her. Consequently, she is susceptible and wide-open to trials
and tribulation, to opposing the commands of Allaah and even to corrupting her
own family, and she will (easily) respond to everyone and anyone who screams the
loudest!

2. My Advice to the Women, Part 1
- Umm Abdillaah al-Waadi’eeyyah
3) The balanced group - Those who take the responsibility of educating the
women, within the boundaries of the Book and the Sunnah, following the saying of
Allaah, The Mighty and Majestic:
“O you who believe! Ward off yourselves and your families from the hell fire
whose fuel is men and stones”. At-Tahreem (66): 6
It is authentically reported in the Saheehayn1
upon the authority of Ibn ‘Umar
(Radiya Allaahu ‘anhu) that the Messenger of Allaah (Salla Allaahu ‘Alayhi wa
sallam) said:
“All of you are Shepherds and you will all be questioned about your flock”
The enemies of Islaam have a great desire to misguide the women with their false
propaganda. Truly to Allaah we belong and to Him we return. Based upon that, it
is a great obligation upon the woman to advise her sisters, call them to Allaah and
warn them against those male and females who are the cause of these trials and
tribulations, and likewise who have been afflicted by them too. Hopefully, she will
fill this role where there is a void.
However, as for her arranging lectures, where both men and women attend
together with one another, then this never occurred at the time of the Prophet
(Salla Allaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam). Similarly, she herself would not be safe from this
fitnah. So the harms of these lectures are greater than their benefit.
Worse than that, is to (choose) to be a female announcer. I don’t know one female
caller to Allaah from amongst this type of people. Rather they are known to be
corrupt and spread corruption, freely mix with the sinful male announcers and to
beautify their flirtatious voices. May Allaah sever their tongues and relieve the
lands and slaves from their likes.
It is upon the women to study the biography of the Messenger of Allaah (Salla
Allaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam) and the biography of those female callers who were
present at the time of the Prophet (Salla Allaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam). The likes of
Umm Sulaim and the other virtuous female companions, and then follow their
methodology; if she truly hopes for Allaah and the Last Day.
We intended by having the questions and answers (towards the end of the book) to
allow the women to gain some experience and to refute the people of innovation.
Also to say to the innovators, "Our women, by the Will of Allaah, will soon refute
you and they, by the Will of Allaah, have already begun writing a book in question
and answer form, called 'Iydaah Al-Maqaal fee Ar-Radd 'ala Al-Mubtadi'ah Ad-
Dullaal'. May Allaah make it easy to complete.
We say to the Shee’ah who strive to busy us with small pamphlets, which are full
of ignorance, a war against the Sunnah and an attempt to chase the people away

3. My Advice to the Women, Part 1
- Umm Abdillaah al-Waadi’eeyyah
from it, "Tread with caution as by the Will of Allaah you will never obstruct our
path, by the Will of Allaah, our daughters will soon refute you.”
As for us, then all praise is due to Allaah, we have already broken your backs
through our books: ‘Riyaadul Jannah fee Ar-Radd ‘Ala ‘Adaa as Sunnah’, ‘Ash-
Shafaa’ah’, ‘Irshaad dhaw al-Fatn li ib’aad ghulaat Ar-Rawaafidh min al-yemen'
and 'al-ilhaad al Khomeini fee ard al-haramayn’.
Lastly, we ask Allaah that He grants success to the author of this advice and the
questions and answers, in allowing her to continue upon the path of seeking
beneficial knowledge, enabling her to perform righteous actions and calling to
this. Verily He is able to do all things.
After looking at what has been prepared for the second print, I found that it
contained benefits which were extremely valuable like authentication and
weakening (of ahaadeeth), praise and disparagement of narrators and other
valuable (pieces) of advice.
The people raced with one another in purchasing the first edition and I hope that
the race will be greater for this edition.
The author of the book is Umm Abdillaah al-Waadi’eeyyah. She is firmly grounded
in many sciences of the religion, and she demonstrates the manners of the
Messenger of Allaah (Salla Allaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam). She is dignified and
extremely careful in preserving her time. Due to this, Allaah has blessed her
activities. She is always keen to benefit her sisters, and she will teach a book until
she completes the whole of it and then moves on to the next book. She has a love
for the books of Aqeedah, Fiqh and Grammar.
Books she has authored:
“My Advice to the women” Printed in San’aa - all copies have been sold!
“As-Saheeh al-musnad min ash-Shamaa’il al muhammadiyyah” - Printed
“Al-Jaami’ as-Saheeh fil ilm wa fadlihi”
At this moment in time, she is working on various books. The best of them is “As-
Saheeh al-musnad min as-Seerah an-Nabawiyyah”. (In this work), she rigidly sticks
to the authentic ahaadeeth, unlike those who claimed that they only relied upon
authentic narrations when compiling the biography of the Prophet (Salla Allaahu
‘Alayhi wa sallam) and never fulfilled this. We ask Allaah that He makes it easy for
her to finish this amazing project, which the people frequently ask about.
All praise is due to Allaah; Umm Abdillah hates hizbiyyah and warns against it. May
Allaah reward her with good and rectify her state and the state of her children.
Verily He is able to do all things.

4. My Advice to the Women, Part 1
- Umm Abdillaah al-Waadi’eeyyah
אאא
Author’s Introduction
All praise is due to Allaah, and the peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of
Allaah. I testify that none has the right to be worshipped in truth except Allaah
alone without any partner and I testify that Muhammad is his Slave and Messenger.
To proceed:
In front of you is a new print (i.e. of the book ‘My Advice to the Women’) which I
present to my Muslim sister, hoping that Allaah, The Mighty and Majestic, will
allow you to benefit from it.
I present to you this book which is small in size but important due to the advice
and guidance it contains, especially as giving advice is from the way of the
Messengers.
Nooh (‘Alayhisalaam) said to his nation:
“I convey unto you the Messages of my Lord and give sincere advice to you.
And I know from Allaah what you know not.” (Al-A'raf 7:62)
Hood (‘Alayhisalaam) said:
“I convey unto you the Messages of my Lord, and I am a trustworthy adviser (or
well-wisher) for you.” (Al-A'raf 7:68)
Saalih (‘Alayhisalaam) said:
Then he [Saalih] turned from them, and said: “O my people! I have indeed
conveyed to you the Message of my Lord, and have given you good advice but
you like not good advisers.” (Al-A'raf 7:79)
Shu’ayb (‘Alayhisalaam) said:
Then he (Shu'ayb) turned from them and said: “O my people! I have indeed
conveyed my Lord's Messages unto you and I have given you good advice. Then
how can I sorrow for the disbelieving people's (destruction).” (Al-A'raf 7:93)

5. My Advice to the Women, Part 1
- Umm Abdillaah al-Waadi’eeyyah
Advice is the supporting pillar of the religion
There comes in Saheeh Muslim, with a completely connected chain, and in
Bukhaari, in Mu’alaq form, upon the authority of Abu Ruqayyah Tameem ad-Daaree
(Radiya Allaahu ‘anhu) that the Messenger of Allaah (Salla Allaahu ‘Alayhi wa
sallam) said, “The religion is advice.”
We said, “To whom O Messenger of Allaah?”
He said, “To Allaah, His Messenger, His Book, the leaders of the Muslims, and the
common folk.”
Jareer Ibn Abdullaah pledged allegiance to the Prophet (Salla Allaahu ‘Alayhi wa
sallam) that he would perform the prayer, give zakaat and advise each and every
Muslim.
This hadeeth is reported by the two Shaykhs (Bukhaari and Muslim) upon the
authority of Jareer Ibn Abdullaah.
When asked what is considered to be the most superior of actions, Abdullaah Ibn
Al-Mubaarak replied, “Offering advice for the sake of Allaah.” The reference for
this narration of Ibn Al-Mubaarak is found in the book ‘Jaami’ Al-‘Uloom wal
Hikaam’ - page 80.
For this reason, I wanted to put forth these pieces of advice to those who are
(considered) my sisters for the sake of Allaah, especially when it was requested of
me to write about the issues pertaining to the women and that which is specific to
them. (Whenever I was asked this), my answer was always that Shaykh Mustafa,
may Allaah reward him with good, has already taken upon this task so there is no
need to chase after that which already exists, as our main concern is to aid Islaam.
My latest work on this book has been to slightly expand and revise it where
needed.
I ask Allaah, The Mighty and Majestic, that He places this upon my scale of good
deeds, and that He allows this to be beneficial. All praise is due to Allaah, Lord of
all the creation.
