Here We Go Again: Leading in Tough Times
"Have you been wishing for the good old days lately? Or at least to rewind the economic clock 12 months? Leading a company during a slowing economy has plenty of challenges: What should you change, stop or continue doing?"
the big decision of " to stay or to go" and "to retain or to let go" are driven by the same set of variables but with different perspectives. Whereas an employee will be keen to see the long-term win, for employer this could be a short-term fix. No employee is irreplaceable and no organisation is angelic. Counter offer is an outcome. A more pro-active talent management team can understand the motivation and frustration factors of strong performers, and can continuously feed into the management to be prepared for such unexpected resignations and knee-jerk counter offers.
Key Customer Account Management is the master-key to quantum sales improvement and retention of key customers.Yet few companies are able to convert good intentions to effective programs. Dr Wilfred Monteiro India's leading sales performance guru share a few insights and ideas.

THE ECONOMICS OF LIFE
Directions: Write an informative essay in response to the following prompt question: What part does economic thinking play in life? While you may utilize some direct reference to your own personal life, your work must also speak in general terms. Besides the answer to the broad abstract question above, please also provide a focused answer to at least two of the more specific prompts provided below:
1. To what extent can the economic perspective be applied when deciding between (1) your needs and desires regarding family and (2) the socially-imposed requirements and demands of building a successful career and/or business?
2. How will you reconcile your own personal dreams, hopes, and preferences with those of the others in your family unit (your spouse and your children)?
3. How does economic thinking apply to the “social contract” of the family unit, or can “economics” be disregarded when it comes to decisions inside the family?
4. How important is money in the successful accomplishment of your life goals?
5. How important is it to take an economically rational view in regards towards thinking about and planning towards the future?
6. How does economic thinking apply to considerations of living and working in the city/urban environment versus the country/rural environment? A company is in Prime when form and function are in balance. The what and the how are in balance. Prior to Prime, function is more important than form. In other words, what we do is more important than how we do it. After Prime, how we do it is more important than what we do. That is why, after Prime, how you do something and whom you know is more important than what you do. In Prime, the what and how are in balance. In Prime, the company is both flexible and in control. Prior to Prime, the company is flexible, but not very much in control of itself. After Prime, control is very high, and the company loses flexibility. In Prime, flexibility and control are together.
However, in a company in Prime, the management is not as flexible as before Prime, because there is professional management: The tendency to depend on any single indispensable individual does not exist as it does in younger companies. On the other hand, in Prime, the organization has a strategic outlook without losing attention to detail. Furthermore, the organization does not look only at detail without losing its strategic outlook, so the company in Prime has controlled flexibility, and it doesn’t depend on any single individual.

Abstract Data-drivenhealthcareistrulyvaluableandpromising.Aslongasrele- vant data are gathered, probed, used, and managed in a good fashion, significant improvements in the dependability of healthcare practices are achievable. Neverthe- less, unless privacy facets of relevant sensitive data are addressed, there are notable concerns regarding data-driven healthcare policies and applications. In general, tech- nical and engineering facets of such interventions are concentered on to a greater extent, but privacy facets are not adequately addressed. This chapter highlights and discusses privacy issues in data-driven health care. A comprehensive review and distillation of pertinent literature and works yielded relevant results and interpreta- tions. Purposefully, generic privacy issues are elaborated in the beginning. Addition- ally, areas for improvement regarding privacy issues in data-driven health care are underlined and discussed. People, policy, and technology aspects are also explained and deliberated. Moreover, how privacy is related to people and policy to ensure the success in data-driven healthcare practices is discussed in this chapter. Besides, people’s perceptions about privacy are distilled and reported. The focal impact of this chapter is to deliver a contemporary interpretation and discussion regarding privacy issues in data-driven health care. Product developers and managers, policy-makers, and pertinent researchers might benefit from this chapter in order to improve related knowledge and implementations.

Putting the SPARK into Virtual Training.pptxCynthia Clay
This 60-minute webinar, sponsored by Adobe, was delivered for the Training Mag Network. It explored the five elements of SPARK: Storytelling, Purpose, Action, Relationships, and Kudos. Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Validating and affirming participants' comments is the way to create a positive learning environment.

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. In this paper, I provide my summary and reflections as bulleted items on behalf of the “Hypothesis-
Driven Entrepreneurship: The Lean Startup” article by Thomas Eisenmann, Eric Ries, and Sarah
Dillard.
The subject paper defines what the hypothesis-driven entrepreneurship (the lean start-up
approach) is, lists and elaborates the steps of the hypothesis-driven entrepreneurship, details the
lean start-up psychology, and concludes with a firm appreciation of the approach.
Largely, I found the whole article as a promotion and description/prescription manuscript for the
lean start-up approach. The subject paper defines the the lean start-up approach as a way of
hypothesis-driven entrepreneurship. I categorically agree with this argument since at the hearth
of lean start-ups, we have to concentrate on effectiveness and efficiency, and in this regard
hypothesis-driven course of action is a very good and safe way for progress.
The subject paper underlines that start-ups mostly confront huge uncertainties, and they are
determinedly required to manage these by very means of definite experimentation, premeditated
staging, and cleverly shifting risk to relevant and applicable partners. Certainly, we cannot fully
eliminate the all-embracing relevant uncertainties, yet we have such mechanisms to manage the
situations.
What the most important concept related with the approach elaborated in the subject paper is
surely minimum viable products (MVPs). We apply hypotheses tests in this regard. By means of
MVPs, we predominantly crack down on the smallest set of features and/or activities needed to
approve or refute a business model hypothesis that we set or design beforehand.
In the lean start-up approach, as stressed in the pertinent paper, we regularly and continuously
test our business model. Results of these tests may lead to no changes to our business model, pivot
to a revised model that changes some model elements whereas preserving others, or principally
perish, halting the start-up. It is simple, about our business model, we may preserve,
revise/improve, or quit in accordance with the test results.
In the text, it is highlighted that the fundamental objective of an early-stage start-up is not to grow,
in its place it is to learn how to build a justifiable and workable initiative. That is very important
because unless we erect a valid and workable edge, any growth figure will not be maintainable
and at the end we will gradually or unexpectedly downfall.
Regarding resource spending, lean start-up approach requires us focus mostly on escaping wastes
and enhancing, but not much about minimizing. This argument is also salient as we have to be
very effective and efficient to attain and sustain our goals.

Hypothesis-driven entrepreneurship has basically six steps. These can be summarized as:
Developing a vision (ideation), translating the vision into hypotheses (business model), specifying
MVPs tests (real products), prioritizing tests (sequencing), learning from MVP tests (feedbacks),
and preserving/pivoting/perishing (final decision).
Actually, there is a fairly well-defined path to follow for hypothesis-driven entrepreneurship.
Though, all of the steps shall be adjusted with respect to contextual realities and business needs.
These are tools (means) not ends (aims). There is a constant testing, and check-balance approach
in the pertinent view. Feedbacks shall be handled wisely and utilized for improvement purposes
since they are early indicators for many things related with the customers and/or consumers.
As pointed out by the authors of the text, there are some cognitive biases that are especially
relevant for entrepreneurs in the context of lean start-ups. These are optimism bias (overrating the
likelihood of positive events), the planning fallacy (misjudging the benefits of a task and
miscalculating its duration, costs, and risks), confirmation bias (tendency to validate), and the
sunk cost fallacy (aversion to loses). All of these biases shall be noticed by the successful
entrepreneur and all actions should be done correspondingly. We should distinguish that these are
distilled from experiences and written with kind of bloods and millions of dollar costs. We must
not repeat the same mistakes related with our efforts. Just like our products, we should be
innovative regarding our mistakes by not repeating the well-established and mainly repeated ones.
Boundary conditions and, in fact, contextual realities shall also be effusively taken into account
during whole efforts related with our initiatives. Especially, on the account of mistake limits,
demand uncertainty, information quality, and development cycles, we should fully investigate
and interpret the situations and do act suitably. These are very fundamental issues that mostly
shape our start-up’s success as the environment truly govern many things.
We can fairly list three main concepts from the article as a take away message. These are “test
and invest,” “minimum viable products,” and “pivots.” These should be known and appreciated
for success. Furthermore, contextual realities and biases should also be comprehended and
appreciated for success.
Still, lastly, I need to underline that hypothesis-driven entrepreneurship (the lean start-up
approach) may probably not work for every situation, and it is, of course, not a silver bullet. We
can mostly benefit from the approach and its details elaborated in the text. However, we should
be very careful about our goals, our customers/consumers, and contextual realities while
benefiting from the model/approach, and we ought to fine-tune any appropriate issues
correspondingly to attain and sustain the success.
