This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

28. Downfall
The seeds of the downfall of the
Muslims were sown during the Golden
period.
With so much power, wealth and
influence, the Muslims started slowly
and gradually straying away from
Quran and Sunnah and the spirit of
Islam.
The Holy Prophet (s)
said:
“ By this Book, Allah
would exalt some
peoples and degrade
others.”
29. Leaving the Quran
The downfall of the Ummayyad caliphate started after the
death of Umar Bin Abdul Aziz.
His successor,Yazid Bin abdul Malik bin Marwan was the
first caliph who openly drank wine and took drugs and
indulged in singing and playing musical instruments.
30. Disunity
Muslims broke up into many sects.
Muslims were constantly fighting each other for
power and to claim caliphate.
More than one Caliphate came into existence
and they were constantly fighting each other for
power.
31. Love of Wealth and World
The Muslim rulers had become so greedy that instead
of being happy at the conversion of their people to
Islam, they were sad at losing the “jizyah”.
Caliph Hisham bin Abdul Malik forcefully tried to
collect the jizya from the Dhimmis who had converted
to Islam. He even dismissed and imprisoned his
governors and associates who were against this jizya
collection. He dealt very harshly and unjustly with the
new converts.
This led many new Muslims to turn apostate and
rebelled and they actually asked the Chinese leader to
attack the Muslims.
A few foolish and greedy rulers amongst the
Muslims used the power of the sword to
actually stop Islam from Spreading!

believed to have been derived from Arabic musical instruments:

33. Love of Poetry, Drama and Fiction
The most well known Arabic fiction ,The Book of
One Thousand and One Nights (Arabian Nights),
was a compiled in the 10th century during the
golden age containing folk tales told by the
Persian Queen Scheherazade.
Various characters from this epic are famous
such as Aladdin, Sinbad and Ali Baba.
A famous Arabic poetry and Persian poetry on
romance Layla and Majnun, dates back to the
Umayyad era in the 7th century.
The first fictional Arabic novel Hayy ibn Yaqdhan
was written during the Golden Era. Its
translation later inspired Daniel Defoe to write
Robinson Crusoe.
The first example of a science fiction novel was
written by Ibn Al Nafis near the end of the
Golden Era..

34. Downfall
The achievements of the Arabic speaking peoples between
the ninth and twelfth centuries are so great as to baffle
our understanding. The decadence of Islam and of
Arabic is almost as puzzling in its speed and
completeness as their phenomenal rise. Scholars will
forever try to explain it as they try to explain the
decadence and fall of Rome. Such questions are
exceedingly complex and it is impossible to answer
them in a simple way.

Middle East'
