This document provides an overview of a music and deafness unit plan for elementary school students. It includes 5 main lessons that aim to help students experience music in new ways without relying on hearing. Lesson activities incorporate using sign language, feeling vibrations from instruments and voices, and watching music videos without sound. The unit utilizes resources like the book "Sing, Dance and Sign!" and laminated ASL alphabet charts. A guest speaker, Pam Bowker, who is deaf, will also discuss her experiences with music, such as enjoying symphonies through feeling the vibrations.
