Dry liner and first fix joiner June 2012 – August 2014
This was my own business carrying out domestic work on a self employed basis. I worked renovating buildings, replacing walls,
supports, ceilings, securing electrics and pipe work using high powered drills, nail guns as well as other machinery, treating any
wood work with wet / dry rot which could be saved and containing any further spread, removing and building new structure and
covering with new plaster board ready for plastering when necessary.
DSL Drilling Services
Site investigation driller, January 2011 - March 2012
Travelling around the UK as part of a team drilling / sampling ground with a shell and ogre rig for new building work to be permitted.
I have worked with just about all types of drilling work, experienced in cable percussion, rotary and telescopic rotary rigs, bore-
holes for geothermal foundation or monitoring wells follow on regularly working at heights and in confined spaces maintaining our
own rig keeping up to date with HSE regulations. A lot of ground works replacement had to be undertaken such as broken flags,
kerbs, pot holes refilled to make safe for the public once we had taken all our barriers down.
2. Shuttering Joiner for Chilton construction
April 2008 – Dec 2010
Working at various locations around the UK I was sub-contracted by companies to provide work to meet customer led
specifications and designs. I would work alongside an engineer to produce customer specification bases and walls, foundations,
retaining walls and floors for many buildings including universities, making bridge – tables and platform supports on cross country
pipeline for, supporting walls and sophists.I was sub-contracted to MURPHYs on a lot of pipeline diversions and i worked on a
power plant in hull with MURPHYs Alongside joinery work I was also a steel fixer when required making surrounding steel work
ready for cement to be poured. While doing this work i obtained certification to work on gas lines. Team work was essential in this
work as well as independent working and the ability to adapt and assist your team was essential to meet deadlines. Also the ability
to work from design drawings was essential.
Berry Piling Systems Ltd
Piling Operative
Dec 2004 – March 2007
I worked in London for 3 years travelling from Newcastle to London working as a piling operative. working within a small team we
would drill holes for foundations under pinning or clays testing, using foundation specifications from engineers and working with a
16 ton piling rig, mini rigs ‘kitten rig or 1 ton kitten rig depending on the type of work required. Maintaining and carrying out repairs
to our hydraulics as they would blow regularly as they run under such high pressures. we worked on swimming pools and house in
Phililamore Gardens which was the most expensive house to be built in Britain as well as a number of other major sites around
United Kingdom.
Fisherman on the Angela-Jane
September 2001 – December 2004
This was a small family owned boat. I began this as weekend work while i was at school moving to full time employment after
leaving school, the boat was a 20foot coble and was used for catching mainly shell fish collecting approximately 6 to 800 pots per
day in the north sea. I also maintained the boat and pots and carried out repairs where necessary.
