2D Animation Techniques: Stop Motion - Shakiem and Mizla
Stop motion (also known as stop-action or frame-by-frame) is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own.
The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence.
History Stop motion animation has a long history in film. Of the forms already mentioned, object animation is the oldest, then direct manipulation animation, followed (roughly) by sequential drawings on multiple pages, which quickly evolved into cel animation, with clay animation, pixilation, puppet animation, and time-lapse being developed concurrently next.
The first instance of the stop motion technique can be credited to Albert E. Smith and J. Stuart Blackton for The Humpty Dumpty Circus (1898). Stop Motion animation has been developed tremendously between 1898 and today, thanks to the remarkable progress in the science.
3 famous stop-motion animators Leo Bridle is a freelance director and animator based in the south of England Jan Švankmajer(born 4 September 1934 , Prague ) is a Czech surrealist artist. His work spans several media. Willie Hopkin- one of the earliest clay animation films-Modelling Extraordinary in 1912.
Stop Motion The stop motion videos are very popular to watch, the way the directors and editors performed the impossible possible. The way the characters are moving around by just using photos and putting them together to make stop motion videos, the people who made the stop motion are called Jan Svankmajer and Leo Bridle. The stop motion videos can be seen on the website called youtube.com which is very useful to watch all the stop motion you want.
EXAMPLE: Images These images are from stop motion videos and they use various things in them like cut out pictures, legos and fiction characters even clay mation. The stop motion pictures are made from the camera photos and is depended on how many photos you are taking for stop motion to work.
