The document provides instructions for an activity where students and teachers record short videos of themselves speaking simple phrases in their native language for an Erasmus+ eTwinning project celebrating the European Day of Languages. Participants are asked to include their school name, class, country and teacher name in the video and post it to a shared map with an English translation. The goal is to collect authentic language samples from different countries to share and potentially have the activity voted as one of the most innovative for the 2016 European Day of Languages.

2. Record a short video (no more than 1 minute) of your
students and yourself uttering some simple words in
your mother tongue – Hello, Good Morning, Good
Night, Thank you.
You can also recite a short poem in your native
language.

3. Don’t forget to add the Name of
the School and the Class, the
Country and the name of the
teacher on the Video.

4. Provide also the meaning of your
words/poems in English too, so that
everyone understands.

5. Post your video on the

6. Go to the ADDITIONS tab > Add marker –
detailed (name-location) > media (YouTube
Video ID) > preview > submit

7. The videos can be used as
authentic materials for your
etwinning projects.

8. The activity will be registered on the “Events of the
European Day of Languages” database 2016 where
the most innovative activities are voted every year.
This year it could be ours!!
