This document outlines the agenda for a meetup on MUnit and Mule migration. The agenda includes an introduction to MUnit testing framework, demonstrations of the Munit Test Recorder and Mule Migration Assistant (MMA), and a Q&A session. The Munit Test Recorder allows automatically generating tests by recording API flows. Munit Test Recorder

• This feature is available only for:
• Anypoint studio 7.5+
• MUnit - 2.2.5
• MUnit Anypoint Studio Plugin - 2.5.0
• Mule runtime engine - 4.3.0
• The test recorder enables you to record a processing flow and then configure a unit
test based on the captured event.
• The test recorder captures real data as it goes through your application in Anypoint
Studio.
• By capturing the flow execution, MUnit can automatically generate an MUnit test so
that you can configure the necessary mocks and assertions for your test

Munit Test Recorder - Limitations

• You cannot create tests for flows with Mule errors raised inside the
flow, even if they are handled by an on error continue error
handler.
• Mocking values resulting from parallel processes causes a mixture of
real and mocked data that compromises the execution of the
processors that follow in your test.
• The recorder does not support mocking a message before or inside a
Foreach processor.

• For each test case, we need to run Test recorder every time.
• Though Errors are not recorder, we can Still recreate Error Scenarios
(Let’s see in Demo)
• Tip to use this in 4.2 and earlier versions

MMA -Mule Migration Assistant

• The Mule Migration Assistant is a command-line assistant that assists
in the migration process by converting select components of a Mule 3
app to a Mule 4 app.
• This assistant will not complete 100% migration
• Adjustment will be required and a migration report is provided after
the assistant is run.
• When the assistant finds something it cannot migrate, it will be
marked as an error and point the developer to documentation on
how to move forward.

MMA -Mule Migration Assistant

• The connectors which cannot be converted will be shown in form of
"Compatibility Module"
• "Compatibility Module" is a connector that shows in the Mule 4
app.
• Compatibility module provides a set of components that either
adapts Mule 3 components into the Mule 4 architecture or in some
cases, enables some Mule 3 components to work in Mule 4.
