(Payback is based on the incremental spending Rev producing (annual)
of $50K divided by the annual savings of $18k). Cost savings (annual) ($18k)
This project will increase the reliability and efficiency of our digital
label imaging process. This equipment is our sole method of
postal label application for our TMC product, which contributes
$70K to the Journal Times monthly revenue. The current
equipment uses unsupported technology and has obsolete
components. The current back-up plan in case of failure at this
point is to drive three hours one way to LaCrosse for them to do
the labeling. To replace the existing equipment and technology
operational we will need to spend $24K at a minimum. This cost
is to rebuild on the existing base with new components and
install supported technology. However, this option provides no
labor savings whatsoever. By installing the Mira Label equipment
for an additional $50K compared to the unavoidable alternative,
we integrate the product labeling with our inserting process;
thereby capturing the labor annual savings ($18K). The savings
are based on the current average labeling crew size of 4
associates for 8.5 hours per week.
Replace the 4320 Video Jet digital imaging machine with the
Mira Label/Mirajet in-line labeling system. This system will
eliminate approximately (1,800) hours of labor annually.

To whom it may concern:
I’m writing to offer a strong recommendation for Rick Muhammad.
I’m an attorney, licensed to practice law in three states. I’m also the former editor of
The Journal Times, the daily newspaper of Racine, Wisconsin, where Rick and I worked
together for several years. I left the company last year for a position in Milwaukee.
Rick and I were both managers at The Journal Times and I found him to be committed to
excellence and highly competent. He would be a tremendous asset for any organization.
In fact, it was because I felt this way that I recruited him to join a board. I’m vice president
of the Wisconsin state board for the National Alliance for Mental Illness. Rick has already
proven himself as a valued board member, advising us on some key issues.
It was at The Journal Times that Rick truly impressed me by pursuing his college degree
while cheerfully managing a staff in a stressful environment. He was always professional
and hard working with good ideas. I learned a lot from Rick.
Rick would be a credit to any organization and I’d happily hire him for just about anything.
Feel free to contact me with any questions at 414-333-7089 or RobGolub@yahoo.com.
Sincerely,
Rob Golub

To whom it may concern:
Please allow me to recommend Rick Muhammad. Rick recently completed his Bachelor of Arts degree
from Carthage College, where I was his academic advisor in the Adult Undergraduate Studies program.
Adult Undergraduate Studies at Carthage provides degree programs for non-traditional learners in
Kenosha, WI, and the surrounding communities through part-time and accelerated formats focused on
enriching the individual and promoting lifetime learning.
As Rick’s advisor over the last two academic years, I worked closely with him on the pathways to
complete his degree requirements, make the most of the opportunities available to him as a Carthage
student, and prepare for his subsequent career plans. I have witnessed his ability to make decisions with
lifetime learning as a top priority. He asks the right questions, is diligent about follow up, and seeks
excellence in everything he does. Unlike some college students, Rick thinks critically about what
combination of majors, minors, coursework, and overall experiences will most benefit him in the future.
While advising in Adult Undergraduate Studies is only required once per year, Rick was in touch with
me much more frequently to check in, make adjustments, and seek advice. I recognize the spark in him
that led him to higher education as a good fit and know that he will use his degree to lead in our
community. He is a forward thinker and a relationship builder. I highly recommend him.
If you have any further questions regarding Rick’s potential, please feel free to contact me at (262) 551-
6196 or chogan1@carthage.edu.
Sincerely,
Carrie L. Hogan

To whom it may concern,
My name is Melvin D. Hargrove and I am the Senior Pastor of Zoe Outreach Ministries
here in Racine WI. I am writing this letter in support of my friend and brother,
Mr. Ricky Muhammad. I have known Mr. Muhammad for over 30 years in a personal and
professional capacity. I know him to be a man of integrity, character, drive and discipline.
I also know him to be a person who expects excellence of himself in all that he seeks to
accomplish. Mr. Muhammad has been very industrious and passionate in his community
involvement that includes school mentoring initiatives and other volunteer opportunities.
He is very passionate about being a servant within our community to make it better any
way he can. This is evident with his completing Leadership Racine which prepares one to
be ready to become a trustee of the Racine community by serving on one of its numerous
non-profit boards.
Mr. Muhammad has a voracious appetite and an unquenchable thirst for learning and
self-improvement. He has always been a good steward over the information he gains in his
quest to get better by applying it in a way that all who are around him are made better. It is
an honor to call him both a friend to me and co-laborer with me in our community as we
strive to make it better.
If you have any questions for me my contact information is 262-619-3027 (office),
