Moving forward and
happiness
“If you can’t fly, then run. If you
can’t run, then walk. If you can’t
walk, then crawl. But whatever
you do, you have to keep moving
forward.”
Martin Luther King Jr.
Introduction
 Do you sometimes stop yourself from
moving forward to improve your life
because you believe that where you are
at in life is good enough?
 Do you believe that you would be
happier staying where you are at than
trying something new and fail?
Are you seeking for happiness?
• If you answer yes to any of the question, then
it means that you have stopped on seeking for
happiness
• The main reason why you have to keep on
moving forward in order to maintain your
happiness is because you are a human being,
a living thing
• Living things either grow or die; they do not
stay the same
Living things have to grow
• For example, a tree is a living thing
• It either dies or grows, it never stays the same
• The tree might be 100% alive today, but if you
do not water it tomorrow, its life span will
decrease to 99%
• Even though 99% is still great, it is still dying
• If you do not water the tree for two days in a
row, then it will decrease down to 98% of its
lifespan
• When you do not water your tree at all, it will
become dead
You have to grow
 You also have to keep on growing to
increase your courage, strength, and
self in order to keep your happiness
strong
 Otherwise, you will also die slowly from
the inside, and then it will transform to
the outside of yourself
 It does not matter where you are in life;
you have to keep on moving forward to
grow
“If we don’t change, we
don’t grow. If we don’t
grow, we aren’t really
living.”
Gail Sheehy
“It may be alright to be
content with what you
have, but never with what
you are.”

It is never to late
• You need to believe that it is never too late to
grow and move forward in life to experience
happiness
• For example, let’s say that you are 90 years old,
and you believe that it is too late for you to do
anything to improve your life, because you are
too old already
• However, if someone gives you one million dollar
the next day, would you take it at the age of 90?
• Of course you would, right?
• You know that one million dollar will help you
become a happier person because you do not
have to worry about financial issues anymore and
you can do whatever you like
Never too late to experience
happiness
 It is the same with happiness
 It is never too late to increase your
courage, strength, and self in order to
grow and experience happiness
 Even though you only have 5 or 10
years left of your life, you would rather
experience the last 5 or 10 years of
happiness and not at all
“It is never too late – never
too late to start over, never
too late to be happy.”
Jane Fonda
