Medea writes Jason a letter accusing him of betraying her by leaving her for another woman. She claims she killed her brother and betrayed her father to help Jason retrieve the Golden Fleece. Medea says she had no choice but to kill Jason's new wife and their children out of revenge and to preserve her pride. Jason responds that Medea's actions were her own choice and that he did not force her to do anything. He says marrying the other woman was for their benefit, not just his. Jason says Medea's jealousy and madness drove her to kill their children, not him. While King Creon was foolish to let Medea stay, Jason says in the end only Medea is to blame for

To my Jason,
You lying cheating deceiving scum bag I know that you think that what I did was
wrong, If you hadn't left me for a, then none of this would have happened. You should have just
stayed with me. You thought that you could just leave me and I would just let myself be made a
fool of?
No I had to have my revenge! Don’t you understand what I did for you? If it weren't for
me you would have never gotten the Fleece. I betrayed my father I killed my own brother so that
we could get away! I helped you and this is how you repay me?
You tried to tell me that you married her to benefit us that marrying her would help the children.
Did you actually think that I would be dumb enough to believe that? I knew the second those
words left your mouth that they were lies. I killed king Pelias so that we could rule, so that you
could be king and you left. So what was I to do? Let that tramp just steal my husband, the father
of my children?! No way was I going to let that happen. So I did what I had to do to get revenge
I killed her, painfully and tortuous. But it was my only option my pride was at stake. Can you
imagine the embarrassment that that would have caused? So I killed the one who threatened to
push me out. The one was dim enough to give me one day. And the children I miss them just as
you do but I had to, they would have been punished for giving the princess the gifts so I had to.
For leaving me you made your own destiny.

You think this is my fault? You think I forced you to do any of this? You think it
my fault that you killed your brother. It was no one’s choice but your own to lie to your father
and kill your brother. You did not have to; let us make our own attempt at escaping. You killed
your brother so how can you blame me for your own mistakes? And what I said about re-
marrying for our benefit was true.
We could have had money but no, you made sure that we went nowhere. You
took yourself down yet you took out the anger you felt on me. I suffered the most. You say you
miss the children but I cannot see how you miss them when you chose to make them gone. If it
were not for you we would not have to miss them they would still be here. You killed wife out of
your own jealousy, it was your own insecurity’s and madness that drove you to this.
King Creaon was stupid for letting you stay another day and he paid for it with
his life. But in the end you have no one to blame. Is it my fault you were crazy enough to kill
your own flesh and blood? No I was just trying to help you.
You say you wanted justice and you state it as though justice and revenge are the
same but the way I now see it is revenge is a never ending cycle. I now wish to get back at you.
But I can control my feelings; I am sane enough to not murder my own children! You believe it
is all my fault but I am sure you know there’s more sides to the story.
