George is struggling with drug use and becomes dependent on buying cannabis from his dealer Joe. Over time, their interactions become solely about drug transactions, angering Joe. One day after Joe rejects hanging out unless George buys more drugs, George has a moment of clarity and decides to quit by throwing out his drug paraphernalia. The short film explores how easily friendships can shift to enable addiction when drugs are involved, and the struggle to find the will to quit.

SCENE 1
EXT location: street
George is looking around becoming anxious as he continues
his use of drugs.
Fragmented narrative beginning
Scene 2
INT location: George’s home
George begins his morning routine as he wakes up. This
consists of nutrition, school work and hygiene.
When he is doing his work he gets a call from his friend,
Matt.
George: yo (2) yeah what is it (4) alright I will be out in
two seconds just finishing my work (2) cool.
Scene 3
EXT/INT location: Matt’s car.
George enters matts car as matt tells him he’s able to get
his hands on cannabis.
George: what you saying bruv?!
Matt: what you saying? You alright?
George: good
Matt: you know how you said you wanted to smoke abit of
weed?
George: yeah
Matt: I’ve managed to get a number for you.
George: who is it?
Matt: his name is joe. Don’t know if you’ve seen him
before, he is a mate of mine. I’ve got his number for you.
But listen be careful in it, he is dangerous. Don’t get too
involved with him.
Matt send George the number
Matt: alright I’m sending the number over now.

Scene 4
EXT location: parking lot
George has now obtained Joes number. A drug dealers number.
And he rings him
George: yo its goodall, matt gave me your number.
Georges costume changes represents a different day
George: yeah same place as usual please mate
Costume change
George: meet me in ten yeah? Alright sound for that.
Costume change
George: yeah just the same as yesterday if that’s okay
mate.
Costume change
George: yeah alright then. So I will see you in abit.
Joe’s car pulls up alongside George as George gets in.
George: yo bruv what are you saying?
Joe: sound, not bad. You?
George: not bad man
Joe passes George a bag of cannabis
Joe: this is some banging draw bruv
George: sweet man
Joe drives off and the scene fades
Scene 5
EXT location: private property
Joe and George pull up alongside another car as they chat
and smoke.
George: what you saying then bruv?
Extra: just linking Archie later in it
Joe: he is wet

4. 4
Extra: what Archie? Nah well if you are about and want a
lift just message me mate. I will be out all night to be
fair.
Close up of George smoking fades to black
Scene 6
EXT location: street
George gets dropped off and exits the car.
George: sound for that mate see you in abit.
We meet up with scene 1 as George is anxious and what we
now know to be the effects of drugs is messing with his
head.
Scene fades.
Scene 7
INT location: Georges home
George awakens to the next day and he is drowsy. You see
the effects of the night before in his actions as he
attempts to start his day.
George swaps his original routine of work, nutrition and
hygiene for a smoke.
Ext location: Georges garden
George is smoking a cigarette as he gets a text from Joe so
he proceeded to his car and they drive off.
Fades.
Scene 8
EXT/INT location: parking lot in Joes car
Joes and George are parked up and Joe loses his patience as
George has not bought any drugs off him.
Joe: you gonna buy anything or what?
George: nah mate I thought we could just chill today
Joe: you are not really my mate like that. Do one
George: fine count me out then

5. 5
George exits the car slamming the door as Joe drives off
recklessly.
Fades.
Scene 9:
Location: Georges home
George arrives home and punches his door in anger.
He looks at his paraphernalia and takes a deep breathe in
as he decides to throw it away.
Screen suddenly goes to back and rolls credits.
