Dear Director,
I would like to express my interest for the opportunity to be an English Teacher
for your English Language Centre or Faculty of Language Studies.
I am a Canadian born Egyptian who speaks, Arabic, French, and of course
English. I have lived in Toronto, one of the most multicultural cities in the world,
for over 16 years. Now, I live in Ho Chi Minh City as an English Teacher and have
taught and travelled in Asia extensively. I would like the privilege to enrich
students lives by teaching them about Canadian and western culture, yet at the
same time preparing them for language challenges they will face in the future.
Through my experiences, I have the responsibility, maturity, and skills necessary
to perform the tasks required for this position. I will give my full effort to engage
and develop “fun” teaching methods and activities that not only teach a new
language but a new culture. This opportunity is about sharing cultural
differences, particularly experiences, that positively affect their students desire
to learn new and interesting things, like a new language.
I come with an open mind and the desire to improve the lives of others through
language. I feel very confident that I have a solid foundation for success in any
classroom or learning scenario.
My strategies in the classroom include kinesthetic and inductive learning
experiences that develop critical problem solving skills. I believe in engaging the
students through four “core” skills - speaking, writing, listening and reading,
while also integrating activities that are relevant to the class, both culture and
general topics of interests. Students will make mistakes and that is okay; through
encouragement, practice and constructive learning, they can be successful.
I am sure that my skill set and personality would be perfect for the opportunity
of teaching English overseas. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
MUHAMMAD EL KALZA
