Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese practice of arranging objects and buildings in harmony with nature. It originated from the I Ching and was founded by Emperor Fu His around 2500 BCE. Feng Shui is based on the principles of yin and yang and aims to balance chi, or life energy, through consideration of elements, colors, and the flow of wind and water. Proper Feng Shui dictates the placement and design of rooms and buildings according to the eight cardinal directions and five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.
