Betal began another story, as he was being
carried upon KingVikramaditya’s shoulders.
A long time ago, there was a beautiful and
intelligent princess named Chandralekha. Many
her. She always declined, saying, “My husband
should be strong, courageous and talented.”
One day, a prince named Virendra came to
propose to Chandralekha. He said,“I can tell the
fortune of people and have never been proven
the palace to stay in while she made her decision.
The next day, Prince Udaivir arrived, wanting to
have her hand in marriage. “I have a chariot
which can run on land as well as in the sky,”said
the prince, hoping to impress her.

The third day, Prince Dhananjay came to ask for
Chandralekha’s hand in marriage. He boasted,“I
am an unparalleled warrior. No one can destroy
me!” Chandralekha asked him to wait while she
chose between the three.
The next morning, Chandralekha’s mother was

PrinceVirendra closed his eyes for a moment and
then said,“As a fortune teller, I can see that the
princess has been kidnapped by a giant who
wants to marry her.”
Next, Prince Udaivir said, “My chariot is the

Upon reaching the giant’s lair, Prince Dhananjay
took out his sword, fought the giant bravely and
won.
Chandralekha was returned safely to her mother
and the kingdom was at peace.
“So tell me King Vikramaditya,” said Betal. “Who
should the princess choose as her groom?”
KingVikramaditya thought and then said,“Prince
Dhananjay deserves to be the groom. Even
though Prince Virendra foretold where the
princess would be and Prince Udaivir used his
chariot to take them there, Prince Dhananjay
defeated the giant. Without his strength, the
giant would have eaten them all!”
Betal looked at the king and said,“Right you are,

Do you know what telepathy is?
The ability to read others’ mind and communicate information from one’s mind to
the other is known as 'Telepathy'. ‘Tele’ means distance and ‘pathy’ means feelings.
Telepathy is a process which allows people to communicate with one another through
Telepathy happens between two people, the sender –
who attempts to send certain thoughts; and the
receiver, who tries to receive those thoughts.
Telepathy occurs only if both people believe in it and
are totally relaxed physically and mentally. Unwanted
thoughts, disturbed environment will never allow
telepathy to take place. The goal is to relax your mind
and body completely. It takes years to master
telepathy and involves patience and concentration.

What is the cause of smelly feet?
odour is caused by the build up of bacteria which
multiply in sweaty areas. They inhabit sweaty, dark
places, such as your feet that, have been in your socks
sweat and as a result your feet remain damp. These
bacteria feast on the dead skin and sweat on your feet
and produce a smelly organic acid or by-product. It is
this acid, which causes stinky feet.
The feet have more sweat glands as compared to the
rest of the body, producing sweat to keep the feet
moist and supple. Hence, more bacteria are attracted
to your sweaty feet and as a result, create an
unpleasant smell. Also, your feet spend their day
trapped in your socks and shoes, creating the perfect
environment for the bacteria to breed.

Need for Speed
The village headman spoke, "The king wishes to come
to our village and go to the jungle to hunt. Bhola and
Shankar will be the guides for the forest tour."
The whole village rejoiced, but Lali seemed worried.
The next morning, she ran to the forest to talk to
Appu. She sat beside her friend and said, "Appu! The
king wishes to come to the forest to hunt!"
Appu looked at his friend glumy.
As they were strolling in the jungle to get to the
lake for some water, Appu refused to walk on the
bridge.
"What's wrong?" asked Lali.
Appu gestured with his head that he would not
move forward. Lali got down, leaned forward and
noticed that the bridge at the other end was
broken. "Let us go around it."
The next day, the entire village was abuzz
with activities. There were musical instru-
ments welcoming the king with the local
public dancing for him.
The villagers kept all kinds of gifts for the
king in a heap. Lali made a dash towards
the forest. "I better save Appu," she
thought to herself.
Appu and Lali went around the bridge to the other side. Lali knew the king would
not be able to come to this side because of the broken bridge. As she sat with
her friend under a tree, she saw the king and his party come, from a distance.
The king was leading them. He did
not notice the broken bridge and
made his way towards it.
Lali jumped and said, "Appu! Our king will fall off the bridge.
He doesn't know it's broken. We must warn him."
She screamed, but the king continued to ride forward. Lali
turned to Appu and said, "They can't hear me! Appu, hold
the other end of the bridge while I run towards the king
to warn him."
Appu did as he was told, with all his might. lali ran
towards the king and screamed, "The bridge is broken!
Turn back!"
Just in the nick of time, the king turned back. When Lali reached
the other end, Appu let go and the whole bridge collapsed. Everyone
marveled at how Lali and her elephant friend had saved the day.
"You saved my life little girl. As a reward, you can ask for
aything, it will be yours" the king said happily.
Lali said hesitantly, "My Lord! Can you please not hunt
here? The animals should live in peace."
Theking smiled and said, "Not only will I never hunt here,
but no one will be allowed to. Your friends are safe in my
kingdom."
Everyone praised the gener-
osity of the king and for Lali
and Appu, it was the happiest
day of their life.

  • 5. What is the cause of smelly feet? odour is caused by the build up of bacteria which multiply in sweaty areas. They inhabit sweaty, dark places, such as your feet that, have been in your socks sweat and as a result your feet remain damp. These bacteria feast on the dead skin and sweat on your feet and produce a smelly organic acid or by-product. It is this acid, which causes stinky feet. The feet have more sweat glands as compared to the rest of the body, producing sweat to keep the feet moist and supple. Hence, more bacteria are attracted to your sweaty feet and as a result, create an unpleasant smell. Also, your feet spend their day trapped in your socks and shoes, creating the perfect environment for the bacteria to breed. Forest animals word search Why do only your feet smell?

  • 8. a comic story EDO Need for Speed The village headman spoke, "The king wishes to come to our village and go to the jungle to hunt. Bhola and Shankar will be the guides for the forest tour." The whole village rejoiced, but Lali seemed worried. The next morning, she ran to the forest to talk to Appu. She sat beside her friend and said, "Appu! The king wishes to come to the forest to hunt!"
  • 9. Appu looked at his friend glumy. As they were strolling in the jungle to get to the lake for some water, Appu refused to walk on the bridge. "What's wrong?" asked Lali. Appu gestured with his head that he would not move forward. Lali got down, leaned forward and noticed that the bridge at the other end was broken. "Let us go around it." The next day, the entire village was abuzz with activities. There were musical instru- ments welcoming the king with the local public dancing for him. The villagers kept all kinds of gifts for the king in a heap. Lali made a dash towards the forest. "I better save Appu," she thought to herself. Appu and Lali went around the bridge to the other side. Lali knew the king would not be able to come to this side because of the broken bridge. As she sat with her friend under a tree, she saw the king and his party come, from a distance. The king was leading them. He did not notice the broken bridge and made his way towards it.
  • 10. Lali jumped and said, "Appu! Our king will fall off the bridge. He doesn't know it's broken. We must warn him." She screamed, but the king continued to ride forward. Lali turned to Appu and said, "They can't hear me! Appu, hold the other end of the bridge while I run towards the king to warn him." Appu did as he was told, with all his might. lali ran towards the king and screamed, "The bridge is broken! Turn back!" Just in the nick of time, the king turned back. When Lali reached the other end, Appu let go and the whole bridge collapsed. Everyone marveled at how Lali and her elephant friend had saved the day. "You saved my life little girl. As a reward, you can ask for aything, it will be yours" the king said happily. Lali said hesitantly, "My Lord! Can you please not hunt here? The animals should live in peace." Theking smiled and said, "Not only will I never hunt here, but no one will be allowed to. Your friends are safe in my kingdom." Everyone praised the gener- osity of the king and for Lali and Appu, it was the happiest day of their life.
