Jeremy Atticus "Jem" Finch is the main character of the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Jem is a white boy around 10-13 years old who lives with his sister Scout and their father Atticus, a lawyer, in Maycomb, Alabama in the 1930s. Jem befriends Dill, a boy who visits Maycomb each summer, and deals with the racism and injustice prevalent in the Jim Crow South through a trial that Atticus takes on defending a black man falsely accused of a crime.
